I can totally understand your frustration, but I am sure that half of these problems wouldn’t occur with the system I’ve got. What vehicle is it? Mines on a NP300, and it will NOT lock the doors if the key is inside it, and it will NOT start the engine if the key is not inside it. Yes, you could start it and walk off with the key, but it tells the driver immediately that the key is not present. I like it, but perhaps it wouldn’t be so convenient with several people moving it around all day like you have. But the key can happily be left in the car and moved as you wish, and cannot be locked it.
It’s an Isuzu
If you have the key in your pocket you can press the button on the door handle to lock/unlock which is great but if the key is in the house and the pickup is unlocked in the yard you can’t just press the button to lock it you need the key which is frustrating. The next gripe with the key is being able to leave the ignition on to charge phones/batteries. You can’t just turn it on, you have to get in, press the brake, start it in park, shift to neutral then turn the engine off which leaves the ignition on, to turn ignition off you have to do it in reverse!
I did ask for a normal ignition when I bought it but it’s spec doesn’t have that option

It doesn’t suit us fencing, they key has to be left in the vehicle all the time so it can be moved by anyone but I regularly forget I have it and bugger off to the other end of the field leaving someone stranded and having to walk for it, or they start the pickup with me in close proximity with the key in my pocket then they go so far then it needs the key! Because this happens a lot I then end up leaving the key in it when I’m in town or out somewhere as it’s a force of habit.
We used to leave the key in a hiding place on the old pickup if needs be but with the keyless thing it’s pointless, the key can be hidden on the vehicle but still opened and driven away.
We started leaving the key in the handle in the door but it was once knocked out and run over and lost for an hour. STUPID FECKING THING
We never had this problem when it was a normal key, but we did wear out the old key with all the stopping and starting
Surely everybody should carry a key for it then.....

Go to the dealer and get the keyless function turned off.

Why were wasps invented, no use to anybody and all ways where you want to work.
After firing and drowning them on Friday, I was hoping they would have cleared off this morning,, er er,, fecking things were back this morning so hoping pest control guy can nail them tommorow,, hate them
Just go to wilko get a squeezy ant powder thing give them a good squirt or knapsack with some cypher in it
Sorts them

Have had a poor 24 hrs but I appreciate it's more frustrating and annoying compared to what some people have to deal with and looking at the news .
1)B in Law hired handler to do a job 6 miles away, returns 3 hrs later with fuel leak and hand brake assembly on floor held on with brake cable. Lost bolts and pads. Went to dealer to order, fell on floor, £111 for 2 pads and glue !!( was told initially that no spares available, have to buy whole assembly £560! Asked "what's on next page on screen, oh yes ,you can buy individual parts"!)How many times does that happen?
2) Drive home and take 7 week old SP sprayer off to do a PIA job 15 miles from home. Not really worth it but he is my customer and sometimes have to take rough with smooth. Get 12 miles from home and engine suddenly starts clicking and sounds like a knitting machine, pull over ,nothing obvious to see. Phone JD dealer (as JD engine),send a fitter up,takes an hour. "Don t like sound of that " is his comment. Phone manufacture and arrange artic recovery but not to this morning. Wife picks me up.
Got spray in tank, only 1200 ltrs but round up. Decide to take hired tractor( for grain trailers )up to sprayer with one of my bowsers to pump across. Honda pump refuses to start , not been used for 2 months but always starts second pull . Waste 20 mins to no avail so drag out a spare pump and strap on. Drive the 12 miles to bowser but on parking up and getting out , oil p.ssing out a brake pipe. Stop tractor and remove pipe but lost a fair bit of oil. Pump across tank contents, return home but notice where I met a lorry on route up, there is oil patch( grab hedge cuttings, grass and dirt on oil as best I can).
Get home but tractor spools lock out as low oil so can t unhitch bowser and turns out no spare oil.
Meant to go combining today and move header etc so that's a problem. Two hours later, pouring with rain and unexpected ! Well at least that solves one issue!
Go to dealer and get oil and repair pipe.
Come home , top up oil but now tractor still won t work hydraulics. Error code says no oil even though it's full. Speak to tractor dealer, try a few things, no good. Now awaiting fitter to come and sort that problem.
Basically,
Handler with no hand brake
SP sprayer having its engine taken apart
Tractor with no hydraulic functions other than steering
All happened in a 7 hr period!
Hopefully may help someone on here who s having machinery woes, "your not alone "

It's that time of year when one or two people are referring to their combines as "binders"

When who ever it was combined the various tasks that make up a Combine's system, the one bit they missed out was the binding operation.
Cutting/reaping, yes that's there. Threshing, yes, sieving/winnowing's there, but at the back it's all about windrowing, (or chopping, if that's your choice) not binding!
Therefore, not a "binder"!

Eircom, or Eir as we are meant to call them nowdays. It's been nearly three months since we switched to them as internet providers and they still haven't got it right despite many hours waiting on the phone and being passed from pillar to post when they actually do deign to talk to us. Yesterday we got a customer satisfaction survey request, and then a reminder, despite us making it quite clear how we viewed their customer service all along. Do they ever listen to the calls that 'May be recordeed for training and quality purposes'? Nope, far easier to just email some stupid form and pretend they care.

Just heard, new engine in SP !
Bolt holding "big end" come loose so had a bit of slop on !!
Obviously warranty, 170 hrs old.
Tractor- sender unit in tank corroded and forked. Got new one yesterday and fitted, no better but got rid of an error code. Drain hydraulic oil tank (messy) as told filter in bottom in one of the pipes (choice of 4 but no guidance which one), can't find a filter, phone for advice but only just heard back with another option so out now to try.
Handler, got bits and 90% fixed, needs adjusting properly but got called away yesterday PM to do something else. While under machine notice I ve lost some bolts holding transfer case together and others loose so got a bit more to do. Brand new tranmission fitted 12 months ago, grrr !

Futher update:
Handler fixed including adding the missing bolts.
Sprayer, waiting for new engine which arrived today and process of swapping pumps etc over has started, hoping for late monday finish.
Tractor, well nothing suggested worked so fitter back yesterday pm. Removed hydraulic tank [wedged in by fuel tank so that had to practically come off] to remove a plate to get to a pick up pipe with a big filter on it and changed. Refitted it all, added 40 ltrs oil to try, still nothing. Decide after more phone calls , must be pump. Set to and remove pump [bitch of a job] but finally found problem, input shaft sheared !
New pump came in overnight and fitted am, tractor fixed. No idea why it sheared and dealer does not think its connected to low oil level [only needed 35 ltrs to top up in 60 ltr tank]
Stupid thing was, new shaft in old pump £630 , new pump £813 . How the heck does that add up ??
Just glad to get fixed as its been 4 days but in a way lucky its been wet week.
Hoping next week , and longer goes better !!!

Its time this thread was brought back to life so here goes:

Waiting and waiting for stuff you have ordered and paid for from dealers that is needed urgently and they have a pretty slack attitude to getting it here any time soon.

Buying genuine parts that are a worse fit than non genuine, i.e a pair of fan belts for my tractor. Seem too short so can't get the idler puller slot bolt in. WTF. Don't they ever try out their own spare parts?

Heavy land. Direct drill and you cut a slot in cheese that dries out or creates a slug motorway. Rip it up or plough it and you end up with dry cannonballs. Plough in the autumn and wait for a "frost mould" and it slumps so badly over winter you could strike a match on it in spring. Grass the fekker down and leave it down, I say.
