When I log onto Facebook and I see a picture of one of my fields on the local gossip group. I took the sheep off this field last week to get them home for shearing/worming/Clik/foot TLC. Its greened up right well, best its looked since last year! It hasn't stopped raining since we sheared so they haven't been touched and are waiting to dry so I can wagon them back.

Now the stupid baskets are discussing how all those sheep have been taken for slaughter and how its not right, sparking the full vegan debate. I typed a strongly worded response pointing out where they were wrong with their assumptions and telling them what was actually happening. then pointed out if you are wondering why we do certain things its better to ask than jump to a conclusion, post it on social media and let the vegan plonkers out of their boxes.

When I had written my response to my liking my dearly beloved wife leant over and read my response. She made me remove all the curses, make it polite and not rile up the neighbours. (My response was ballcocks to the ignorant planks but that didn't wash either
I think that the moderator of our local gossip group has something against me. None of my comments on that sort of post last very long.
I tend to get some really good abuse from ex-London incomers in the short time before they're noticed though!

For some stupid reason the oil cooler connections on the reconditioned radiator are shorter than they were before reconditioning. So the running nuts run out of thread before the joints tighten. I have found some tow ( hessian fibres) in granddads drawers and wound some round between the running nut and the flared end of the tube to pack it so now the joint tightens before the nut runs out of thread. An hour long bodge to sort out something that should have taken five minutes. Wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t leak as well.

Yesterday the gypsies tarred and chipped my road and did what they agreed to do for the price we pre agreed. Fair enough. Today they turned up again in the rain and wanted to do a stretch that doesn’t need doing. We agreed it didn’t need doing yesterday. I am generally a polite person but wasn’t born yesterday and try my best for people but why does it often end up with me having to tell people to F off. So off they went.

then at lunch time a rep calls. I never buy anything off him as he is always too expensive so I don’t know why he bothers but I am polite. And off he goes another half an hour wasted.

A tiresome week. Nearly finished reassembling the Sanderson. It’s 45 years old but if I can squeeze another 5 years out of it it will be a bonus. There has been a snag at every stage though. A leak or something badly corroded Tiresome.

Our local Carrs store shuts this week, real shame as they have always been first rate for any bits we needed and a cracking group of staff. Just a 60 mile jaunt to Skipton for the nearest Carrs now.

The mouse who lives at the far end of the conveyor tunnel under the bins.
I want to get to the end of the tunnel to hoover it out and grease the conveyor end bearings. It’s a tight squeeze that tapers tighter the further you go till I completely I crawl along with the conveyor between my arms and legs straddling it, with my face down on the top of the conveyor. Can’t lift my head much for the tunnel roof above. It’s a horrible claustrophobic job at the best of times but cornering a mouse and ending up bitten or with it in my boiler suit doesn’t appeal. Sent the cat down and he tried his best but the mouse just hides in the tiny gap between the conveyor end and the end of the tunnel from what I could see with the torch.
Maybe time to enquire about central storage. Nearly had enough of 200 year old grain stores with 1950’s upgrade. It’s a battle to keep them right.
oh well get the duct tape round my welly tops, and find the welding gloves.
