Can’t believe it. I hoovered some dust out of the grain pit and put the auger and it must have made a small hole in the rusty metal at the bottom of the pit. Now there is a foot of water in the bottom of it and rising. I remember installing the metal liner, only 34 years ago.
Can anybody recommend a tank sealant that will stick to rusty wet metal? I will then place a board over it and sit the auger on that.

I have had that 'fun' this weekend. I said what is the point of putting up nice fences if we then have to put up shitty plastic posts and tangled tape inside it? Answer, the horses rub on the fence and make themselves sore! Then we have to move the dividing fence every day or so so they only get a little fresh grass otherwise they make themselves I'll. Stupid animals!
Trick is make them earn their food. Water at the high end of the field, fenced tight, grazing at the bottoms = no puddles. shelter from trees in a place you want then as they look attractive. hot or wet and they need to move there and hjy in the middle - so some unsightly plastic, sorry. The buggers have to move round the field to get food water and shelter - at least they attempt to earn their keep.
To sell it call it prairie grazing

I have had great success with "sticksall" inc sealing leaking aluminium gutters from the inside while it was raining.

Bought a used car two months ago and received to 2 Parking fines (PCN's) from London area shortly afterwards-I live on the Devon/Cornwall border. Reported to police as a cloned number plate-been stopped by the local police twice since then-no problem, the boys in blue are doing there job.

So, I've appealed the two PCN's. Got a letter from Dagenham & Redbridge today saying the fine has now been increased by 50% and threatening Court action if not paid within 14 days. Rang them to ask why my appeal,-- which included a printout of my firm's staff car park VNPR system logging my vehicle into their car park in Cornwall 1 hour before the alleged offence took place-- had been refused. Conversation they goes like this:

Did you appeal on line?

No, sent a letter, with the evidence of being 250 miles away at the time in question

Why didn't you appeal on line, most people do?

I sent an appeal form with hard copies of the evidence, can you tell me why the appeal was rejected?

There's no Appeal on our system, when did you post it?

12 days ago, ten days before the Appeal deadline.

Well, we probably haven't looked at it yet ,don't you know lots of people are working from home because of Covid? (heavy sarcastic tone) You should have appealed on line.

Yes, I am working from home. If you are having trouble processing appeals, why do you not extended the deadline rather than increase the fine and threaten Legal action?

That's the way it's done, you'll get another Notification and you can appeal again.

Why don't you read the Appeal I've already submitted?

I've told you, you'll have to Appeal again.

So, I'm being threatened with a fine for an offence I can prove I didn't commit, but it's my fault because I followed the Appeal process they outlined-but not in the way they like. No "sorry" or "we will look into it" just the implication that it's my fault because I should have known they'd like an email.

In 1985 I helped father install a secondhand chain and cup elevator to take the grain from the almet drier. The cups had been bolted on the wrong way so didn’t fill properly and the most it could handle was a miserable 2.5 tph so it was easy to overwhelm it with the Almet which has max output 3 tph. So 35 years later my brother and I have turned the cups round the right way and bolted them back on but it won’t go round the bottom sprocket without digging into the casing of the elevator. So now we are modifying the casing. We will get it right one day and it will cope with anything the Almet can throw at it but how did the the original design go so wrong?

Had similar with Birmingham city council over a parking ticket which was fully visible to the moron that wrote the notice. I had a note written by anther parking attendant, on BCC note paper, that saw us return to the car and witnessed that we had a valid ticket. They refused each appeal (doubling the fine each time) until the court notice, at which point I said that I was happy to appear in court and would be claiming for my time, at my contract minimum charge, when they lost. At this point they backed down.
