not while nick "the p***k grimshaw " does the breakfast show, im sure im not the only one who finds his voice nauseating to the point where i simpy have to change station!

Radio 2 all the way now, or local bbc one if i want to hear weather, as it seems more accurate than the tv version

I find Fearne Cotton is the one who needs a 'spade in the face'. Says things like 'what evs' and OMG!!

In no particular order:

Smoking
Exessive alcohol consumption
drug addiction
all tattoos
all body piercing, except ladies' ear lobes
litter, particularly that which is thrown out of vehicles in the countryside
rudeness, anger and dissent
drivers who don't use their indicators.
Imigrants who come to this country and take up a life of crime.

The extreemly poor standard of spoken english, particularly amongst the young. People who are too lazy to make the "th" sound. They replace it with f and v, as in "froat" and "wiv". They drop the letters t & h and have no idea about tence and the singular and plural. as in "we was" and "I were". The words stood and sat are totally misused these days, even by tv presenters, as in "I was sat" or "I am stood". The trouble with these stupid people is that they don't listen to those people who do speak properly. I once asked a teacher why they don't correct their pupils, and he said that they were told not to correct accents. He didn't know the difference between an accent and incorrect
grammar. Perhaps he thought that it doesn't matter. I say that it is not good enough.

As I am typing this rant, I have just heard on the radio that the friends of the 14 year old girl who was killed by 5 dogs in Wigan yesterday, intend to release chinese lanterns today in her honour. How stupid are they?

Wat a brill post am wiv ya on dat one! :p

On a more serious note I agree with your post above.

think it shows that R1 are now trying to attract a "younger" audience, the "hoodrat" generation as i call it, Jo Whiley was one of my favourites, even she got pushed out because she was too old. Must admit i hardly ever listen to R1 for more than a few seconds now, have gone off it a lot in the last year or so. Chris Moyles breakfast show could get annoying at times, but nothing compared to the pansy that does it now

If we're talking about grammar, what about when people say "most brightest" or "most cleanest" instead of most bright or brightest and most clean or cleanest. This is really really common. I find myself correcting people on TV and my wife calls me a boring old man! I'm not old!

Totally agree with you about the poor grammar used today.

I told off some youngsters not so long ago for dropping litter on the beach and was told "We never did nothing pal", to which I replied "If you 'never did nothing', then you must have done something..."

It was wasted on them as their poor grasp of the use of tense and the English language in general, coupled with their general bad manners just led them to tell me to F off.

Picked the rubbish up for them and put it in the bin 20 yards away...

On tv program's like got to dance when the presenter reads out twitter messages, not a lot annoys me but it really annoys me. Luckily we record most program's so we can fast forward the adverts so fast forward these bits too.
P.s. sandpit you are old

You know.
People who have to keep interjecting (?) "you know" into their oratory.
You know, even David Cameron has to keep doing it. That was a waste of school fees.

Dick heads driving whilst on the phone,no attention to lane discipline or the use of indicators as you follow them.
9 points and a £2000 fine should be mandatory to curb society of this dangerous behaviour.
that and feckin townies out for a rural drive in their 4x4's.they hog the whole lane and refuse to get a tyre dirty in the bloody ditch, some even come to a full stop hogging the lane and look at you as if you are a feckin alien mothership.

Farm assurance inspectors who phone up tonight wanting to do the annual inspection tomorrow when you have just started an outside lambing in this weather.
As if we've nothing better to do for the next month. Surely common sense dictates than any of the other 11 months of the year would be the ones to go for on a sheep farm rather than last days of March/April.

And then get shirty when you say bugger off and phone back in May to make an appointment.

I had a "trainee" and his boss last year. The boss actually phoned after they'd left to apologise for some of the things his pupil had said, and thanked me for my patience........

I may have muttered something in response about breaking the ban of on Farm burial if he ever came back:oops:

Radio 4 is quite clever really, you wouldnt realise it but the strenght of their radio signal must be twice that of any other station! Reason i say this, been out on the 1494 today, battery has been off recently so no stations saved in the radio, tried to re-tune it, all i could get was radio 4, the reason....no aerial! Yet it picked up R4 as clear as a bell. New aeriel tommorro i think!!!!!

dont mind radio 2, il listen to anything as long as its not radio 1, kiss fm or those commercial stations like heart, what play the same 5 songs all day, in between double glazing and ppi claim adverts. They really do get on my nerves. Dont need a radio on the 1494, sound of that thing pulling hard with the turbo snorting through the non standard straight through exhaust is as good as and radio station!

Having said that, as old fashioned and archaic as i am, all these tractors have a modern radio/cd player what relys on "scary modern electrics what i supposedly dont like" :D
