Hmm. Had a 1600E after the mk1, an early one with the 2000E gearbox and thicker body work. Bought my brothers late one for spares, The bean counters must have got control because the late ones were poor. Hmmm, Did someone mention a Cosworth? Whose a lucky g*t then.:)

Going back a few years just after the smoking ban came in someone l know with a small business and a few employees was approached by his secretary and asked if she could have a day off. Apparently she had timed the smokers and it amounted to a lost day of work, but I can't remember how long it took to get there.
Was working with a fella last week who had a cig break every half an hour over a twelve and a half hour day. :banghead::banghead::mad::mad::grumpy::grumpy::banhappy:

Cosworth's, I was the right age at the right time, i turned 25 and could buy them cheap as chips but a bit dear to insure, had 5 over the next few years, one of each but never a 500.

'Hi. I'm looking for a pair of 16.9R38 tractor tyres over 50% in very good condition. I'm prepared to pay up to £50 cash. Can you help?'

I get these every day!

Incidentally, if anyone does have some 16.9R38s over 50% in excellent condition for up to £50, I'll take them. All of them!

Erm, was that aimed at me?

I did get one for a ton that had well over half tread that got me out of trouble. Apologies if I gave you the run around I must have missed a message or something. Perhaps I'm being paranoid:cautious::shy::shifty:

Chap with a garage near to me had a yard full of cosworth body shells , and a workshop with all the "mechanics "of them . He was also an absolute whizz at performance tuning and re chipping . Trouble was , he was also a complete alky - litre bottle of vodka a day for starters and no food . I'm told he sold the whole outfit to a garage just outside Manchester , on condition he went down there daily , and re assembled the bits . Last time I heard he was honouring his part of the bargain - well part time anyway . Absolute waste of a God-given gift . Don't know how long he'll live given his lifestyle , but I'm glad none of our cattle look like he does !

Hearing on the radio that (I think recall) over 10,000 motorists are driving on the road with over 12 current penalty points

A driving ban is nullified by a magistrate for exceptional hardship reasons etc.

Apparently the FoI revealed one driver in West Yorkshire with 62 current points ............

Agreed wholeheartedly. I don't care what the sob story is, you've broken the rules and you lose your licence.

If you're caught driving without one you should lose the vehicle too.
