Join the club - I had one of those a few days ago.:mad::cool::scratchhead:

IMHO, a bit of banter in a thread does no harm - life's too short to be a grumpy fudger all the time:rolleyes:

your posts are fine.
No dig at other people other than humour which helps us along at times.

we will see if a particular post in Agricultural Matters atm ....gets removed...... proving 'fair and square' moderating

I take it you don't do windows updates very often then

Windows updated when needed. When you get the little circle going round and round as it tries to download a picture line by line down a connection that, at best, runs at 0.5mg, it gets a bit frustrating! Waiting for confirmation of returns to VAT or Tax or Car disk can take 20 minutes. Most websites are built now for fast connection - this forum is one of the best for speed and download, thank goodness, as someone, somewhere took into account crap broadband. Thank you to whoever it was. (y)

You must have the patience of a saint or regularly kick the door :eek:

Ours was like that until about 7 years ago when fibre arrived and we're only 20 miles from central London.

O rings.

Kontak spool valve block end cover on hedger needs O rings but no O ring known to mankind (or in Lincolnshire at least) will fit it. I ordered the complete seal kit for it from the hedger manufacturer but no luck there.

Must have turned out every packet and drawer in all surrounding dealers workshops and no luck there either. The end plate has to be changed depending on open or closed centre hydraulics in the tractor. Must have had some o rings in it originally but been lost last time we swapped it, so partly our own fault.

I was stood waiting for a new roller chain to be made up in a belts, bearings and sprockets supplier earlier today and there was a kit in a box that enabled the user to make their own O rings. I'm sure it was called a "make and splice" kit, it had a wide range of O ring "strings" and a glance at the distractions was going on about using a die with the cutter and joiner inside to make up your own O rings

Quick look on Google, kits like this https://www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/adh...g-splicing-kit-imp-met-1-bottle/p/LOC7255815R

Dad pulled the pin out on the wrapper and drove off leaving the cable controls in the cab.
It's fine I thought, I've loads of cables we've saved off old machines I've scrapped. Dismantled three sets, none of them match :banghead: who knew there could be so many variations o_O

Kontak provide their own repair kits, or did, when I was servicing fork lifts.

Measure the internal diameter and the thickness so you can order them specifically.

Selection boxes only tend to carry popular (or cheap?) sizes.

I've likely said this before on here but I'll say it again since I saw it Thur's and Friday at Carlisle... fudgers who hit sheep or poke them with their stick in the sale ring. I really, like really really want to smack the inhumane gits for a couple of hours in the same way they treat their stock. Carlisle was visited by quite a few interested but not buying parties and was live broadcast on webcam, the actions of a few sh*theads could be used to damn an entire group of considerate, pleasant farmers. I know for a fact the Orthodox Jewish visitors thought that the actions of one guy were atrocious.
I score out the entire catalogue of sheep forward by any consignor if I see it done to their first lot, having spoken to others I know more folk feel the same way. It's bad for farming, it's bad for the sheep and it's bad for your business, and it may end up being bad for your reputation if the authorities ever man up and charge someone with animal cruelty.
Apart from a neck crook in the lambing shed I don't have a stick for sheep handling or mart days.

Glad I'm not the only one, it seems the norm in most of the sale videos on Facebook,

There are many in our industry who think they know way more about handling stock than they actually do :banghead:

Poking someone else's livestock is just rude, arrogant and pointless.

Every stock farmer should have a look at Temple Grandin's work, we can all learn from her how to improve the lives of our stock (y)
