Bloody hell! That's awful to have sheep driven out like that!!

Any ideas where the dogs were from? What type of dog?
They are sbf lambs so they tend to swarm en mass when they go anywhere. Luckily nothing looks too have been ripped. Pulled a few out of brambles in ditches and the like but luckily there is no deep water near them.

Took us a good while too count them too make sure we had the right amount there.
They were mongrel bred things, bit of long dog, bit of staffy, could be a fancy breed for all I know but looked like mongrels too me.
The farmer thinks he knows where they are from so I have left it with him too find the owners and try too get money out of them. Around home the rural crime officers are really good. They have chased money up for me and everything. That shower down there were something else though!

Hopefully you can get the dog chips scanned? If nothing else, the owners deserve to know, and be billed for your losses.
Thankfully there weren't any direct losses (yet) but I will see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully we can get 2 men's wages for 1.5 days for putting sheep back, defending field and time spent tomorrow going too check on everything!

I'd like too bill them for costing me my trip too Longtown, I was rather looking forward too it. But I'm not sure what price too put on that! 😂

Ah sorry - I misunderstood “the dogs had done one”. Lucky escape if no casualties - wish I could say the same this year. Hope they have plenty Crovect or dip, as it was deep wounds and subsequent fly strike that got them for me.

Oh, and if you get the details of the owner, do forward them to the police so they know who to charge.

Oh we will! 😉 Once I've calmed down properly about it all (probably Friday) I'll have great fun contacting the police with details and pointing out who will be charged.

They were all dipped about a fortnight since when they came so should (fingers crossed) be alright on the fly front. Will still need more careful checking than they would normally receive.
Cheers for your concern!

On another note I'm sat on the patio with a brew before I start feeding cattle and a pigeon has just shat on my shoulder out of the yew tree. 😒 Time for the .410 I think.

Good luck, and enjoy the brew. Out of curiosity, what’s your preferred calibre for dogs? Father could never decide between .270 and 12 bore.

Local council have decided to give themselves an extra days paid holiday this year because they’ve all done so well during the pandemic.

Feckin wombles.

Theyve either been on furlough for the last 6months or busy sat at home replying to emails by saying they’re unable to reply due to COVID.

Apart from the bin men, they were busy, the bin men can have an extra day off
Did they cut the grass in public parks during lockdown in Angus?

Up here they left them all. Then expected farmers to come and sort them out when grass 3ft long.

How are they going to catch anything sitting in a tractor cutting grass!

Every cloud has a silver lining, that is meant to be a sign for good luck!

I bet the next sale of mules will be considerably cheaper now! 😉

I'm not a good enough shot with the .308 too hit a running target. I like 36grm of BB or AAA at a push. Get a bit of spread on! Makes a mess at close range though... shot the local pub landlords wife's Labrador off a lamb a few years ago, just leant off the quadwhile it was ripping the lambs the out out and let fly. That was messy...

We used to use 42gram mini magnums probably # 4 shot and found them good but you need a good gun to take the heavy loads. The worst day we had was Christmas morning got luck we were checking them before dinner I ran a marathon after the dogs wasnt right for a day after.

I had to read this several times before I realised that you hadn't actually shot the pub landlords wife !!!!

Wouldn't dare have sheep behind an electric fence next to any road
Unfortunately around us there are that many roads and houses you struggle to find decent lumps of ground that don't feature road frontage. Don't usually get trouble until this sort of thing happens.

A couple of years ago I was grazing turnips next too a fancy business centre. Landlord stated that the sheep MUST NOT escape. So we sheep netted all up the drive side and around the business centre with standard sheep netting. Put 3 strand electric on the other sides. After 10 days I had too put 3 strand a foot in front of the sheep netting. They were jumping over, ploughing under. Never bothered the 3 strand. Landlord was very impressed how the electric wires kept them back. Never bothered asking me to sheep net again (thankfully)

I think I waste more time pricing jobs than actually doing them ,and then when you give a price ,they say they have had two quotes cheaper .
Trying to explain to most of these idiots the amount of materials they need and the work involved really makes me wonder why I bother ,,they have no idea how much it costs to get rid of waste and certainly not about what has to go back in to stand the weight of vehicles .

General Practioners or GP`s are rapidly escalating up my grinds list.
Gammy leg - bursitis - I know what it is, physio knows what it is, had an examination at the GP`s they know what it is.
GP puts you on meds hoping you go away..... 2 months later said meds aren`t working.
I know a pain consultant ( a work colleague) he said, "Needs a guided steroid injection that`ll sort it, get the GP to refer you."
Ring GP. "Can`t do that, got to try this drug now for 2 weeks, if it doesn`t work after a week double the dose".
Week 1 - same.
Week 2 double dose - after Day 2 the headache from hell hit like somebody had a Kango on the back of my skull.
Day 3 I start looking "rosey" and think feck this back to 1 pill.
Day 4 face is starting to swell up, stop taking pills "It`ll go away".............
Day 5 full on tomato head.
Thinking "Hmmmmm this isn`t good".
Bus down to town waddle into A&E after the "covid triage".
A&E Desk look a tad concerned and say can you just go through the blue doors there to Majors.
I`m thinking "Oh must because of the new layout..... nope..... they was panicking.
Oral piriton large dose and sat down in a cubicle with a batch of epi-pens next to the bed.
Seems I might be allergic to amitriptyline and was "One step from anaphylaxis which isn`t "good".
All sorted, prescribed mega steroids which as a bonus have made the leg feel a lot better but finish on Friday.
Rang the GP today............. sorry no appointments its a half day.
Booked one for tomorrow....they are going to "Get some".

Now looking like a burns victim as the angiodema (swelling) decreases and the dead skin drops off.

I know how you feel my long-suffering wife of nearly forty-three years went into the hospital with abdominal pains doctor examined her and said why are you flinching when I prod your stomach she said because it hurts he looked at the nurse and said why is she on a drip take it down there is nothing wrong with her send her home .she came home and two months later she died from pancreatic cancer I dare say at that late stage there was nothing they could have done but that is no excuse to be rude and ignorant and if he could not tell there was something wrong with her at that late stage he should not be doing that job
