Stone bees swarming in the bedroom. Coming out of a cupboard set in the wall next to the chimney. Have sealed cupboard door which has stemmed the flow but the cupboard sounds full of angry bees. Dare not open the cupboard door. They are in the sandstone in the wall. Should have pointed it up.
They go on about neonics upsetting bees. No shortage here. A ruddy nuisance.
Wondering if actellic would slow them down but a smoke bomb in the bedroom might be bit excessive. The Mrs is lighting the fire to try to smoke them out as the chimney is also a bit porous.
Are you sure they are stone bees, I thought they were solitary and relatively harmless

Have you any bee keepers nearby? I was under the thought that they would come and collect the colony? Otherwise I’m sure your leaky chimney will make them and you very sleepy

We get those very spring on a south facing wall. I can see where they get into the brickwork on the outside, but not how they get through on the inside!

They are getting in above a downstairs window and coming up through the floorboards in a cupboard in the wall and into the bedroom. I can see the two main holes in the outside wall they are using. Only option is to point them up early morning or evening. Considering they are supposed to be solitary there is a hell of a lot of them and they seem to going crazy at the minute.

Had a phone call the other night From someone wanting to cut trees near power lines.this was about 8.caller said hello mate,we got to come cut some trees near wires on farm,no name of caller or company.i said when do you want to come and look as I’m often not here.oh he said I’ve already been.i told him he had no right to enter without permission but got no answer to that.he said access to said area was poor and the could not get chipper in to chip branches which is not true and they would leave everything in a pile for me to dispose of.i told I’m that was not happening either.he said would there be sheep grazing meadows and when I said yes he said they woukd all need to be taken of but no reason given.i told him that would not happen either as meadows rented to a neighbor.i asked him when they anticipated doing work as meadows very wet and they would likely get stuck if not done August or September and I’d need to know as farm gates are locked when I’m not here.oh he said,we will be coming on the day when you get told by uk powernetworks that the power will be off and then he put the phone down.there could well be some entertainment here for me in the future as if they can not do things correctly like sent a manager out for an appointment their chance of access is zero.tosser

They sound about like the same lot who were supposed to be trimming leylandii from 3phase going into the sewage treatment plant. Only after we found them on our side with a mountain of branches did the conversation start. It ended when my palm was crossed with silver.

Ramblerists who are capable of opening a gate latch and then 2 seconds later being incapable of latching it properly. :scratchhead:

I often find the gate like this. Do I change the fastner or put a sign up showing how to fasten it properly? Is there an easier gate fastener I could use (not that that one is rocket science to work out!)

My Mrs grinds my gears. Every time I open a window in the house because it’s like a sauna you can guarantee she’s closed it 10 mins later. Her reasoning is she’s worried a moth might come in. So instead me and my 2 boys get to slow roast!!

opposite way round here. I'm enjoying my morning cuppa in the sun and she stomps past complaining of the heat and opens the flaming backdoor and I freeze to death!

Changing the engine oil on a Manitou 627, it requires fingers with a third or fourth joint and enough strength in them to haul your body up a cliff to screw the drain tube onto the valve thingy which is totally out of sight.

The "hello mate" normally gets me peed off, and for any requests that follow the answer is always no. If the person does not have the manners to address me by my name there will be no co-operation, end off.

Correct response is “certainly, please put the request in writing, include a copy of your method statement and risk assessments and who I should invoice for my time to review them”.

Has he had a thyroid check up recently?
There's nothing wrong with him ...its all in the mind . He's got it on him today cos the OH has gone to see daughter and he wanted to go but he couldn't.
I've got the fire raging now and shut the widows and doors so he must be roasting in there!
I looked through the window 20 minutes ago and I see he had taken his coat off .
