We brought a discovery 3 from a main dealer and when we said we didn’t want finance and would pay for it the salesman didn’t know how to fill out the paperwork. Also we brought my sons van last year even though we bank transferee the money there and then we couldn’t bring it home and was told by law we had to have a 48hrs cooling of period in case we changed our mind .they then had to deliver it 200miles .🤷‍♂️

I'm totally hacked off with my local garage. My Isuzu D-max went in for the brakes replacing because I could see the disk was shot at, a dodgy abs sensor (light on on the dash...again) and an mot. Got a phone call saying it has failed the mot because it needs brakes and an abs sensor ...duh...Then I get told the sensor will take 3 days to arrive, after 4 I phone and get told someone will phone to explain the delay. Long story short 5 times now I've been told someone will phone to explain the delays and latest call from me results in me being told the part 'should hopefully' be in by the end of the month of November after they got the car in on the 28th October.
I can understand global parts shortages but t'internet has dozens of suppliers saying they are in stock.
Can't drag car out from under them because it now has a failed mot and is illegal to drive.
The girl on the desk repeatedly ignores me when I point out parts are available from online suppliers. I think I better go outside now and kick something inert before I let stupidity/frustration/anger make me say something to 'she who could stab me in my sleep' that I might regret.
Book an mot at another garage and drive it to it, then drive it home.

Get a mate with an ifor trailer to fetch it back. Cover up the rear number plate in case of over zealous anpr cameras.

order the part take it in for them to fit and tell them to deduct your time of the bill
I did exactly this when the garage that I have always used kept saying that their supplier was sending the wrong parts for my 1996 Rover. I kept telling them that they needed to order the the the corresponding Honda Accord parts not the Rover 400 parts as the 416 was a rebadged Accord.
After 3-weeks but not being able to get the parts for a Rover I ordered next day using the registration number on a well-known parts website and the correct item was delivered.
When I asked to garage why it was so easy for me and so difficult for them I discovered that a didn't order by registration number as I didn't write them down in the office and nobody could be bothered to go outside and check so they just ordered by make and model!
Needless to say none of my vehicles have been back there since

I bought a used car a few years back . We got round to signing up the sale , did so , and then the rep went into his pre- arranged HP sales pitch . no, said I , I'll pay for it now with my card . He looked aghast and came back with the very memorable " You must have more effin' money than sense !" Needless to say , they lost a customer at that moment .

Next story on a boat in the Channel. 1185 asylum seekers crossed into in the UK last Thursday record number.
that’s only the ones the authorities know about.I shudder to think how many come inland of the Essex, suffolk and norfolk coast lines where there are miles and miles of beaches totally deserted.

A few Red Tractor gripes as I work my way through it:

Integrated Pest Management.

Another but badly thought out and unnecessary initiative that doesn't quite fit into the tried and tested systems we have had for years that already do what they are asking.
Agronomy assessment tickets and spray records are "Integrated Pest Management" so why was this additional waffle thought necessary? Why is it thought necessary that we we need "crop inspection records" and pest/weed /disease records? These are already covered by the agronomists assessment and recommendation tickets, so why break them out in this way? You can see this idea wasn't thought up by anybody with any practical experience.

Rat Baiting Rules:
You cant put the boxes in the grain store, you can't put them outdoors, so where can you put them?

Emergency Plans - WTF - what's wrong with just dialling 999 or just using your common sense?

Apparently we must have one at the spray store and one at the fertiliser store. But we must not advertise the presence of fertiliser to passers by. But the emergency plan, if it is visible, is an immediate indication of the presence of a fertiliser store to anyone walking past and RT say it must also show the grid reference of the store, which will be extremely helpful information for any terrorist returning later with transport to move a bag or two. If the emergency plan isn't visible then its completely pointless isn't it? Another bureaucratic classic that wastes the time and effort of thousands for zero gain.

But remember if you don't have bait boxes that saves a lot of time and effort all you need is a stray cat. Ours is called Mickey and now we don't have to show evidence of live rats and the subsequent dead rats or prove where the bait is going
But you will, of course, have to take pictures of your 4 hour battle getting it to take a worming pill, and upload said pics onto the RT portal.o_O

why ask -

“is anyone using the jcb?”

When instead you can enter the workshop in an exasperated state and loudly proclaim in front of an audience -

“well looks like I’ll just have to go and fill up a tonne bag of woodchip with a shovel if you’re using ALL the forklifts”

one being serviced and the other parked up since 10am doing nothing. 🙄……. but it was out of direct sight.

Unpacking a delivery to find a neatly printed note at the bottom to the effect that yes, this box does only contain the accessories. The main item. The item that's needed right away and can be used without the accessories, because it's the main item. The main item will arrive in a separate box.

No indication as to when!

Sometimes feels like I am reliving my life 15-20 years ago. The quotes are almost identical to what I went through 🙈🤣

It does get better, slowly😎
