Brother in law was looking for a job about 10 years ago and couldn't believe how many jobs were being advertised by charities at over 100k a year.

The wife thinking that I would have eaten the whole tin of Quality Street in two days. Of course not dear.

Eating so much at The Highwayman in Burrow that I now suspect I’ll rupture something and die.
Still better than us. Wife and I got invited to dinner at a neighbour’s place. Didn’t know them myself but wife knew the wife there via f ing horses. After hearing horse stories until my ears wanted to bleed dinner was served. Not enough food to feed one let alone four. the roast chicken was so skinny it was out of Belsen and a hand full of veggies. No spuds as apparently they are bad carbs. Gravy was thinner than a bad urine sample.
‘apparently I’m ungrateful but the misses still joined me in sandwiches when we go home.

I don't seem to get these random phone calls. I would have some good fun with them.

The ones from Downtown Bombay? From Gareth or David?

I'll quite happily play along.

I tell them my name is wrong and I'm called Raj Tikalo.

Other times I'll tell them they're through to Downing Street and my name is Boris Chopper.

Boiler? Double glazing? I have no heating and no windows.

Often they're oblivious and so on the script it's all lost.

It's the English ones that pee me off most. We've a local Double glazing firm that won't f**k off pestering. Next time there coming out for a full measure for all windows conservatory fascias as the lot... it'll keep an busy.

That sounds very unusual for Canadian hospitality, I was staying up in the interlake area.
Any host in my experience would be most offended if I hadn't at least doubled my weight before I left their house!
I remember going to a "small family barbecue " there was enough food laid out to feed all of Somerset, and still the host was worried that there was not enough!
As a sweeping generalisation, the Canadians are the most generous, hospitable, and warm hearted people I have ever met.

That’s a correct statement as far as most go. Theses moved out of the city a few years back so dont have the same mentality. Husband looks starved. Felt bad for him but I’d expect the horse get the best of everything
