When did anyone! But in all honesty, what happened to minimum stopping distance? No way would these drivers be able to stop if I suddenly did

Some vehicles have sensors that give the driver the impression that the car itself is responsible for working out stopping distance. Do some drivers disable that facility in their vehicles?

Anyway, I'd like to know what is this thing called "cruise control" ...

Out of curiosity, when did you last check your speedometer calibration ? I do mine most long journeys and can be quite surprised how far out it is - up to 10% on occasion. Easy enough to do with a smartphone app and cruise control.

I don't know about @glow worm but my car has space for passengers. That said, if it's held in a proper holder and switched on before starting off, I don't see any problem with it.

Rebates on energy bills. Not the concept of a rebate per se but the complexity of it. Rebate will depend on council tax band apparently. How the heck are they going to administrate that? My bill for the farm already runs to 11 pages as for some reason they had to include the house and yard on the same bill despite two different meters. I’ve one property that will qualify and one that won’t. And it will need paying back eventually.
What a fiasco, but what would you expect from this lot? Have they no idea of the admin cost of the loony schemes they dream up?

Manganese powder. It just doesn’t seem to dissolve quite like it used to. A glassy eggshell layer of sediment left on the floor of my sprayer tank. Half an hour smashing it up with a garden hoe and climb in with my slippers on to get the bits out. Cold water? Not enough acidifier? Too much manganese? Maybe I ought to buy the chelated liquid but it costs.

I’ve a pal in the police. He broke a bone in his ankle 2 yrs ago and is still awaiting operation to fix it. On reduced duties.

Why the slippers?

Ha ha. Slipper farmer.
To avoid treading mud into the tank I climb up there in my wellies then change into my nice clean slippers before climbing in. Easier than trying to clean my wellies before climbing in and less likely to damage something in the tank.
