People 😬😬
Daughters wedding Sat . I put a free bar on for approx 60 guests for am hr after the speeches had finished . Bill came to £823
Not got a problem with that ....but only three actually came up and said thank-you
Ungrateful buggers
Did they know it was you footing the bill though? Wouldn’t it be somewhat rude for a guest to enquire who was paying for what? Also; would you really want 57 extra people to come up to you to say thankyou?! That’s 2 hours gone at 2 minutes each chat; assuming they form an orderly queue. Reception 7 till midnight? You’ve nearly talked yourself out of half of it 😉

Yes they did know cos I finished my speech off with the offer ....
I didn't expect everyone to come in and say thanks but I would have thought more would have ...
What did make me smile was one bloke carrying 3 bottles of wine away from the bar!!

That is a bit naughty of him…wouldn’t have such cheek at my wedding…I even made my 2 best men, father of the bride and my dad pay for their own suits 😂 Tough call for your predicament…most weddings I end up at invariably end up with me driving 100’s of miles and paying for a hotel and meals out before and after…I think I’d almost expect to be thanked for the effort and expense of being there so a free drink would be a nice token gesture. I fear this may be a livestock vs arable thing….😂

£900.

this seems to be the new go-to figure for ancillary parts.

Alternator gone on loader -£970, but could knock 5% off for a stock order. Wow

radiator leaking on industrial forklift- £940

Spent afternoon finding alternatives.

we use our local auto electricians for alternators last year one suitable for a New Holland i think it was 120 amp was about £140 I would think you could get the radiator re-cored for a couple of hundred

Got alternator for £150, radiator man not answering phone today. Can live without industrial forklift for month or 2 so no hurry there.

Just had a visit off local Constabulary .
Last night had 4 lads riding through my cows and mowing grass on their other motor bikes . Local vets alerted me to problem so off I went to investigate . Gates all open and as described 4 bikes riding round a 'track ' on the farm . Gave chase in my pickup and they fled out onto the main road . 2 went left toward town and 2 right into country . I chase down the 2 who turned right and managed to force the one into a hedge where he came off his bike and ran . I picked a length of alkathene pipe out of truck and chased after him and was gonna give him a damn good hiding if I could catch him but I couldn't . On returning to my pickup I was confronted by his mate who started throwing stones and rocks at me . I managed to eventually get back to my truck . Rang the Police who didn't want to know !
I did ,however ,manage to stick my knife into the tyre of the abandoned bike .......... Police received a report of threatening behaviour off the lads who had passed my reg number onto plod .....funnily enough they didn't mention the tyre !
...Plod has now taken a statement off me saying I'm sure this will go no further !!! When I asked about the damage the bikes did on private property they said " well that's a civil complaint " ........tossers

Be wary…..caught up with similar little tosser early one morning when they were up to no good….escaping from thieving in our area…two of them on a motorbike…….local plod had been in hot pursuit…unfortunately the two tossers on the bike totally accidentally left the road at a sharp corner and destroyed a wooden field gate….luckily for them plod was right behind them and able to check they were OK…curiously one of the two fled….Plod kept a firm hold of the other just in case he did himself any harm….
Then I arrived……strong words were exchanged…..plod suggest that perhaps tosser could start to cooperate….or would he prefer it if he departed and left tosser with me….
This was the point where the Ten Inch Screwdriver 😳 came to light under Tossers jacket.
Be wary before getting stuck in!

We are up against it big time . Earlier in the day caught some lads at another place we rent . They fled across the fields but left a really smart scooter type thing. It's now in my shed back at home. Not a cheap one £280 on the internet .
..it's the problem of farming on the outskirts of town ☹️☹️
