Question
If you decided to plant your whole farm with trees taking advantage of grants for carbon sequestration with new woodland etc.
Just say the grants stopped where does that leave any income off that land which was previously productive farmland providing an income and food for the owner/tenant?
Value of native species of tree pretty poor in terms of timber income.
(Thinking long term)

There are LOTS of calcuations in the document produced yesterday - for example 3 at least for each animal produced in agriculture.

Yet I didn't see any -ve CO2 calculations - despite the forestry industry being credited as -ve.

I think we seeing plenty of misdirection and wool pulling. I bet the NFU do nothing as usual.

Then you buy a Cat D8 and get it cleared

So what do I mean about not having any -ve CO2 figures for agriculture ? Well it goes on like this, infact there are MORE items for agriculture than any other sector all emitting CO2.

It'll be different over here, but I attended an open day for our Native Woodland Scheme. I had about 50 acres I was trying to figure out what to do with. At the time, before everything went batshit expensive, the income over the term of the scheme would have "nearly" built a house for us. Towards the end of the day I started asking a few questions, like yourself I wanted to know what happens after the term of the grants. In a nutshell, the answer was we're buying control of your land indefinitely for the price of 15 years of grants, if you want to turn it back to what it was before or do something we disagree with, pay back the money. It's the barb on the hook that everyone should watch out for.
