All wheat going in heavier snotty fields so unlikely to get sown now, not sure I want to sow oats this late and my lightest field that would drill is due for spring barley. On the plus side I haven’t got any seed, fert or done any cultivations, apart from doing a bit of oats and barley in Spring to meet three crop rule might have a year off.

125 acres out of 350 of OSR written off, Could be more yet. Drilled 120 acres of wheat, was planning 600 but probably won't get time to do the 2nd wheat now. Was planning 65 acres of winter barley but doubt that will happen either now. Lots of spring barley/oats I reckon now.

Been putting 360 on today. First day it has really dried, and ground changing colour.
Rape looks too well on virgin ground, other 30ac all there, not so forwards but a flock of 200 flying rats on it this afternoon.
Grass seeds covering ground.
No cereal planted.
I'd say much hangs on how crappy a day we get Friday.

A big fat 0% here. Not rushing. It's about as wet as it can be, so maybe waiting now will see it drier. I am not going to bust a gut to get it into a wet seedbed. Will be direct drilling the untouched light land stubbles. Leaving the solid clay till spring when a lot of it will become cattle paddocks for a change.

All drilled and up heavy land farm so always drill early to beat the weather 200 acres wheat and barley look ok but 50% to spray rape looks sick if we get some decent dry weather it will be ok wait and see an awful lot of land around here wont get drilled this Autumn north west durham

Now the easier ground is being drilled, I thought it would be interesting to find out what has astually been planted by end of today and then perhaps do the same again in a weeks time

So my scores on the doors are ,,,,,,,, rape a total failure,,,,,,,, grass seed drilled and coming through,,,,,,,, no cereals drilled at all
If you haven't got your location up it would be interesting to know

Put a poll up , no interest in gloaters or sadoes , just the numbers

Rape drilled, 15 acres OK, the other 40 under attack and not looking great. Just wait and see and hope.

0% anything else drilled, although the land ploughed should be dry enough tomorrow on the best field, so that's 10 acres by the house.

0% cereals/beans, Osr will be written off - unchartered territory here, so worse than 2007,8 or 12
191mm from 23rd Sept to 15th Oct, not much in last week but only 4 dry days in last month so no drilling done around here, will give it a try tomorrow and see how bad it looks.

100% OSR is OK
8% wheat in today
Yesterday morning was looking at a 2 week dry spell.
This morning we had a 3 day window.
Now looks like a 2 day window before rain thurs/fri/sat

47% wheat drilled best part of a fortnight ago, nothing since. Already got plenty of spring crops planned so hoping to get the rest of the wheat in next week. Rape on light ground looks well but that on heavy ground is very small ...just ordered another gas gun - loads of pigeons in the parish.

20 years ago we'd be mauling it in to our hearts content , what's changed :scratchhead:
The young uns have never learnt to do it. Wheat is a heck of a resilient plant and I’ve seen some good yields from mauled in wheat. Everyone’s worried about the perfect seedbed and rolling /spraying it.
I suppose black grass is the worry for some .
