.....when spreading fertiliser.

I've just finished rebuilt the spreading equipment on my spreading as rust had sized it up.

So I first job for the repaired spreader was to apply 330kg/ha of 27-0-0-10 on 8ha of winter barley across two not quite rectangular fields at 21m bout width. However looking at what was left in the spreader I'd say it has spread 40kg/ha too much which I think is not acceptable.

So back to the drawing board re calibrating it I guess or is it driver error. I should add that it wasn't accurate before but I put that down to rusted/sized components.

Machine is a KV Exacta CL with the Speed 2 control box.

That be fine There all on weigh cells now . So suppose u need to weigh up the cost off them over a bit fert left.

Back to basics after that sort of rebuild. Check all dimensions to the book. Check tractor speed by time travelling 100m. Check fertiliser litre weights and size grading. So many variables to consider.

It's an accord based I believe. What's the difference.

Did you not check after the first field and then adjust?
You are about 12% out, I’d say that was a bit much.

That is exactly what I did. Actuators are opening and closing as they should with the paramotors set by the software. Speed sensor is right as I checked it the gps on my phone etc.

I reckoned it was out but thought I'd do the whole lot to make sure. Only recently moved up from 12m and I have been wondering would overlaps on headlands but it out by 12%?

when do you switch on/off, are your tramlines correct, are your field sizes right, pick 1 field that should work out to the nearest bag size, spread it, if any left open it up a little bit or if you run out close it down a bit for next field, write down settings when you get it close to whet you think is acceptable

Good thing about winter barley is presumably you will be giving it a second dose and can compensate the rate then.

I should have asked the age of the spreader first. Current Kubota/KV/Vicon machines are a mashup of Accord and Vicon - the best bits of both, sort of. Not sure when the full merging of the ranges happened, but some earlier KV stuff can be one or the other

Just keep knocking the rate back a bit till it looks right
