What is the future for Northern Ireland

Precisely. She and I are of the same generation. We grew up knowing nothing else. Mind you, I didn't have a number of active and convicted terrorists in my family to look up to. My influences were somewhat more normal.

Oh well, AF has absolutely ensured unionists are no longer in a political majority in NI since partician. That's simply a momentous shift albeit DUP is still the largest party.

DUP will simply have to radically reform itself pronto if it wants to stem the rising SF tide in NI. Robinson was able to show some statesmanship in his time and got some space from McGuinness when he had his own troubles to deal with.
AF's attitude and arrogance and lack of statesmanship is exactly what SF needs to become the largest party by some distance next time round. Then again she will be long since put out to pasture I presume.

I'd generally agree with most of that.

Figure from Radio in the past few days, ROI deficit €1.4bn, NI deficit €10/11bn+.

I would be confident of which way a vote would go while that figure, and a lot of other things remain.

And with that NI deficit DUP promoted Brexit, ignoring the cash coming from Europe and I guess trusting in London to pony up the difference (n)
Never thought I would admit this, but the fudging shinners are beginning to look vaguely normal when set against the current crop of unionist leaders :scratchhead:

I see Enda is thinking about having a referendum about extending voting rights in the Republic of Ireland's Presidential election to citizen who live outside the Republic's terrority.

As if it matters (n) . Give them a vote for a well paid somebody to do something vaguely useful some of the time!
Maybe Enda himself fancies a few years in a grand house with a full staff on hand to do the dishes etc,.

Very unparliamentary, she is.

Funny how the election was all about respect and equality bla bla bla. Two weeks later she's back to swearing at the prime minister and some good old rhetoric from the troubles. Keeps the electorate hard and makes sure any feelings of goodwill get purged.
