We have a mounted 4m Inverta, does a really good job on all our land and we have everything from moss (peat), black sand, stone, yellow clay and everything in between. Can usually get away with a single pass, the only issue we’ve found and I know others have as well is in dam conditions long trash builds up around the scrapers on the packer and they need to be kept well adjusted. It doesn’t really affect the operation but it’s a pig to clean out!

How many acres a day do you do?
Good question, I’ve not really thought about it to be honest. It’s usually a job in between other jobs but I’d say 80-100 on a fully day but that doesn’t happen often. Pull them with a 6215R 15-17 kph on the flat ground, fields are probably 10-15 ac average size so usually a lot of headlands as well. They do sometimes go on the 6630 but will struggle to get over 10kph and you know they’re on the back when in the air!

We have a 5m Heva disc roller, 2003 vintage, been a reasonably good machine over the years. It went through a period of failing bearings in the disc hubs, and most have been replaced with non grease able hubs, which have been more reliable.
The rest of the machine has survived the abuse metered out over the years, even been pulled by 300 hp at 18-20 kph didn’t destroy it.
As we have changed system, it has fallen out of favour and I guess ain’t been out of the shed for 6/7 years and really should be sold as it doesn’t work in the present system.

How much is one of those?
I had a price on a 4m rigid carrier and a 425 carrier x in the spring. There was a big difference. I would really like the narrow transport width, but not at all cost.

I think list price is just shy of 16k, ours was a set that had been used on a couple of show stands and they where on a wagon on the way back from a show coming past our yard so got a good discount as saved on the haulage a bit.
looks like they have a decent used set in at not bad money, usually a bit of wiggle room on the asking price as well.

Would spec a double sts packer or a kerner ,
be far less running costs , than ,scrapers like on these inverta models
go have a ride down to sleaford and see terry birch ,he has a fresh type of machine your after ,
we have knight 700 s tripple press as has @Robert K who has one to sell , can run discs with or with out tines , do a good job and double ring press leaves it nice

My short list so far is

Inverta
X press
Joker

Ideally looking for a 6meter machine that is trialled have 240hp tractor and no hills

We have a knight c-tine press we would sell as @Will 1594 says these can run in various configurations depending on your hp and soil type etc

We have ran a 4m on 240hp no problems at all.
