Oh. I'm only an employee on a salary, not a business owner. I'll get my coat and go then.
You stay. Your opinion and experience is as valid as anyone's (in fact more than mine tbh) and as you made the point on another thread I seem to remember, it's your skin and is your total commitment in agriculture (I mean this as a compliment and am trying to find the right words) i.e. your farming skill and reputation is the sole thing, you don't have diversification or peripheral assets to sell so you stand by the quality of your faming

Besides which I've never encountered a non-valid post on here for you :)

Don't know what you mean by cliques?

There are people that share the same opinion.

The holistic and farmer Roy threads sometimes feel like there laughing at the rest of us not doing the same as them. At least there doing it in a open forum and not behind our backs in private chats. Maybe they are.

Ive put some of them on ignore as fed up of there hollier than thou attitudes.
But not using a name . They don't do it in Facebook because yiu know who they are

I don't do Faceache so have no idea what goes on there. Are they the same people on the TFF Faceache pages that post to the forum?
Facebook is fine it's how it's used by others that can be an issue

I have many FB friends who post on here too.

There are some things I post only on here and some only on FB

I find it a lovely medium to keep in touch with extended family and also Galloway breeding friends around the World

I think I was JP on BFF and when I joined TFF I had to add a 1. No other reason. Plenty of folks use my name on here. No secret

Interesting I finished off some fencing on some new grazing yesterday. Stopped Landie to open gates and a white Transit tipper full of hedge trimming opposite. Took a quick photo as I undid padlock. Out he hops shouting I was being racist (really? how?). I carried on and as I turned my back he says Farming Forum eh .....

In the time it took to open the internal gate 100 yards further in, he'd sped off but also taken the padlock

If there is something that I've learnt over the years is that you have to farm to your environment, be that political or environmental.
That can be an advantage or disadvantage, what works in one country may well not work in an other, adapt when required and keep an open mind to doing things differently but not forgetting the lessons learnt by past generations and stand up to unecessary political intervention especially if it's based on popular emotion or false agenda and not on proven, peer reviewed scientific fact.
The world has to be fed without political deception.

We have learnt to either take the padlock or lock it back up.

Some of us make no secret on here of our real names whilst others seem unwilling to reveal theirs. Each to their own I suppose. I don't post anything on any public media that I wouldn't say to the same persons face.

I'm also fully prepared to apologise privately and publicly when I get something wrong.

I'd prefer if others behave similarly.

Some might have reasonable cause to 'hide' behind a moniker here.
Many would know who i am, and it's not any kind of secret to bona fide members.
But equally, this is somewhere I can escape my (non-farming) detractors in 'real life'.

What i post here doesn't have to pass anyone's filter but my own (providing I'm within forum rules)....and that ain't my lot elsewhere.

now what can he mean by saying 'racist'?
was he from a visibly different ethnic group?
You're not telling us that this unspecified person driving a transit (with ill intent) might be a self-proclaimed 'special' person are you?

It's a strength in ones character to acknowledge one is incorrect and to apologise.
If even to a KFC employee.

I’d like to think so , but I think most frightened to say anything against the nhs theses days , a run away train and everyone is scared to run after it and stop it .
To be fair I don't know of many nurses complaining about their pay . Most I know are hard working and content but also angry that the unions use them a small an emotional pawn in the ' opposition ' of anything the Govt does .
I'm not saying they wouldn't take a pay rise if it was offered but the majority of nursing staff don't instigate it and don't want to strike .
Management however .....they are a different story .

I’d agree , my friends wife is a nurse she’s really good nurse goes above and beyond and she was saying she finds all this clapping for the nhs stuff etc extremely embarrassing ! She said she is a vocational nurse and extremely well paid and more than thanked enough through job satisfaction and good pay .

I've a pal whose a long term time served ambo driver in Herts.
...or stretcher monkey as he likes to refer to himself....

Anyhoo...... he reckons they're pretty well paid, and whinging about it is unreasonable.
When the union was quoting some ambo drivers wages backalong, my pal reckon the case was being quoted wholly out of context.
This 1% rise is less he'd have preferred, but he's perfectly pragmatic about it. the country is skint....
