Ideal thanks, I assume 40 series wheel don't have the centrering wheel nut holes then? Do you happen to know what width 8340 wheels are as standard?

Back in the early ninetys I had a pair if David brown 13.6/ 38 that I used as rowcrops on a 6810, so some of them shared the same fitment.

I think they're all pretty much the same PCD, well there's two different PCD but it's visually obvious. Where you can usually be caught out is stud diameter and centre bore size

7810 16.9 38 as standard on 14" wide rims (420 85 38 in metric)

8340 18.4 38 as standard on 15" wide rims. (460 85 38 in metric)

The 8340 centres will fit on the 7810 but as Barleymow says you need 8340 wheel nuts or put the same nuts on back to front (with flat washers). Going the other way, the cheapest source for conical washers seem to be Sparex in packs of 10.

Assuming 7810 is 4wd you'll need to up the fronts too.

Have a read of the chart above.

One increase in height or width looks ok, in my opinion, any more than that just makes you look like a wannabee Fendt pilot. ;)

I've put 600 65 38 on a Ford 8200 but that's to make it float for hedge trimming. They only just fit under the steps.

Most of it depends what state your current tyres are in and what rears you can pick up / change from a front line tractor.
(Yes, I know a 7810 CAN be a front line tractor.) @7610 super q

post pictures.

I've just switched from 380 70 28 to 460 70 24, which I thought should be the same rolling circumference, but the 24s with 60% tread left are the same height as the worn out 28s, the ratio on the axle is as shown, so how do i figure out the correct sizes.20201031_174328.jpg

You're not supposed to swap between 24's and 28's but there's more difference between new and worn tyres of same tyre than between some tyre sizes.

10 series are less critical for sizes as they don't have 4wd braking to slam the 4wd in at full revs on the road.
BUT it's best to have the correct sizes whatever the model.

Basically you can go up one size on rear if you go up one on front - according to chart above.

your 380 70 28 are same as 340 85 28 (13.6 28) match to your 16.9 38 on rear. Probably euro import spec originally?

so going up one size in height 380 85 28 or 420 70 28 match with 460 85 38 or 520 70 28 or 600 65 38.

Draw lines on the chart if it helps.

Blame Michelin if it blows your drop box.

Apologies @Nearly didn't see this reply come in, yes its euro spec on 28s as standard, I just saw some John deere rears for sale which would take the 600 65 38s I have, like you i want less ground marking, but didn't know if the centres were the same fitment as the ford. Obviously need spraying the correct colour.

I think the JD cut out will be 152mm whereas your ford cut out will be 140mm
