Thats a smart truck, would do me just fine as my old Ranger is getting pretty done.

You would be crying though if you saw it after I had it a month or so. Kids seats and stuff inside and mud and sh!t everywhere else.:cry::cry::cry:

Is it a 3 litre? If so how do you find it? My father in law has a 3L Invincible and its damned poor on the 12 ft stock trailer. I always thought thats what I'd get next but his has put me off big time. Really need to try another in case his is a dud.

Yeah its a 3.0 litre....I like it but never towed anything heavy like a stock box so can't comment on its pulling power ....

So long as most farmers think they are too posh and can't be any good suits me.
2-3 year old ones are no dearer to buy than similar aged Toyota & Ford.
Bought a 15 plate Highline auto with truckman canopy & towbar fitted from dealer for £17295 a few months ago.

If I did a lot of miles then perhaps a new one of the other breeds with NFU discount would be a better option but was surprised at how affordable they are at a similar age to the likes of @Cowabunga's ranger.

They depreciate at a much higher rate than most, because they are very basic and can't do more work than any other and parts are generally more expensive. Plus there's the negative cache of being seen behind the wheel of a VW badge which now denotes lying-cheating-scumbag-diesel market destroyers-confidence trickster-criminal class-shitheap status.

Dont worry, if brexit doesn't go well and trade with the EU stops there wont be anymore coming into the country.

Phew! That's the only really positive news I've heard of the British exit so far. I'm beginning to like the idea.

Hold on though, aren't all such trucks imported from abroad? Oh dear!
Fords are american ,the good ole us of a will trade with us ,the japs .rely on us buying their trucks ,so just no european trucks ,merc ,fiat etc so not all bad then

Personally I think the money you will be spending is getting sooo close to a new price for vehicles that are rapidly approaching 50k miles that I would be off into a Nissan or like garage and thrash out a deal for a brand new truck with full 5 year warranty and zero miles as in 3 years when you wanta change your 100k truck in for new expect to be laughed at with your trade in.

Good discounts around for MVF and NFU members so get asking as an extra years finace maybe cheaper than changing in 3years, and no little twit will have trashed your truck with in a inch of its life with a cattle box in tow?
Yes I agree with the 5 year warranty etc, but the trucks we have looked at are 3 years old 40k miles and at least 10k cheaper than a new one and we would only do about 5k miles a year. Not worth spending more on a new truck that will do so few miles.

How much are they?
I'd sell you my Ranger Limited 2.2 automatic with full service history, reasonable tyres, under 40k miles, fully valeted and like new for £14500+VAT. No comebacks [I'm not a dealer] but it is working perfectly and recently had a new EGR valve [modified type apparently]. It is 3 years 10 months old.
Leather electric seats with heating, automatic, one down from top of the range and perfectly adequate power output and chassis waxoyled and protected from new [by me]. Service intervals officially 20,000 miles but serviced every 10,000/yearly [happily coinciding] and the rear axle oil changed at 10,000 miles [just because I look after stuff].

Is my asking price in the ballpark? I ask because I am tempted to change in May when its four years old. Will sell this pristine pickup sooner in all probability in order to get a straight deal on a new one.
To the OP. Nope you dont want the ducks motor. Far better off with my ranger instead, its newer, less miles, more powerful and better spec. A mere snip at 21k plus Government xmas party donation;)

Am i the only one that was seriously unimpressed with the VW?

Test drove the v6 few weeks ago, yes it was nice enough, really liked the engine and box, but the rest of is did not seem any better than the competition, certianly the ride was no better than my current D40 in my opinion.

I really wanted to like it, as thats what i had top of my short list at the time, but i did not find it worth the premium over the other offerings.

I had a D40 for 4 years prior to the Amarok and it’s like night and day difference. Even the NP300 we’ve got doesn’t come close.

Hi, we have never had a 4x4 pickup, so we though it’s about time to start looking.
Looking for a 3-4 year old. Atm we like the toyota hilux and the Isuzu d max.
We are looking at a hilux with 46k miles, 3 litre auto on a 65 plate and a D max blade with 43k miles manual, on a 64 plate. The Hilux is £500 more. Which one to go for? Or neither!!
Both have sat nav, leather etc. Thanks
One of these !!!!
