What Pick Up Truck...?

This has been done to death on here already, discount is off RRP not dealer quote, yes you might be able to match it (or maybe not) if you aren't nfu, blah blah blah, still a decent price.
Consider one thing about the nfu discount though, who pays it? You walk in the dealer as a farmer and they instantly realise so keep the price up to please you when you get the discount. Whereas Joe public gets a good price to begin with 🤷‍♂️
But you dont pay the dealer ,you pay Toyota UK

From what I understand instead of Toyota giving the dealer 19% discount off rrp they give it direct to the nfu member. It costs nothing to the nfu. The dealers hate it because they make no money on sales, just £300 handling fee. The only downside is you get book value for a trade in, so the dealer can make a few quid.

Not sure that can work, the dealer might have bought it as stock 6 months ago and paid RRP less 19% (using your figures), farmer comes in and buys without a trade in, so dealer sends nearly all his margin back to Toyota?... no wonder they wont call you back, they are better off not selling it.

Why, has it to be on finance?
No doesn't have to be on finance, it is because it is part of a fleet sale to nfu members. Having said that I'm not sure dealers wouldnt match the price if you aren't nfu as they have all kinds of strange quotas/bonuses/targets, probably depends on the individual dealers situation at the time.

yes, hiluxs only in white as standard, can have a landcruiser commercial 2.8 in white or black as standard (not much dearer than a hilux), but not 3.5t towing so kind of rules it out for me as the main tow vehicle. might be tempted when i eventually replace my 2nd vehicle though.
Ive had 2 quotes from different buying groups , similar price of trucks to you but both looking for a delivery charge , not a nfu member though ,

When buying a Toyota through NFU you get a form from NFU that you give to dealer who gives it to importer.after sorting spec you pay toyota direct and 5 days later the vehicle is released to dealer.i don’t like this part but it’s been ok.then dealer ads extras then lets you have truck.my dealer reckons they only make £50 handling charge.on a trade in you get a really good price then dealer earns on this.they actually buy your trade in.ive had a few like this and it works well.

Used them for last few years but never had a quote for trade in twice recently when I have asked about new and second hand. Disappointed really, you hear this a lot nowadays that dealers never get back to you.

They used to send reminders for MOT and service but I’ve not heard from them for some time.

On the subject of NFU discounts then last I enquired at Isuzu dealer there was a decent NFU member discount on the old model dmax but begger all on the new dmax. As you’ll realise this was some time ago.

No
Toyota uk handle all affinity group discounts (CLA/BASC/NFU/Mole/Woldmarsh) from HQ and invoice you or the finance company (whoever is paying)
They control the discount allowances

Dealer just gets a small handling fee, from Toyota for pdi and plates and won't want your p/ex unless it's at a rock bottom auction price

That's the way the 'merry go round' works

ive allways received an excellent price for my vehicle from the dealer when I’ve had a new one through toyota Making a change a very good deal
nick...

Yeah but you change yours before it gets to 10k miles and the dealer only gives you a decent price because he can see a profit in retailing your low miles vehicle
He won’t give you anything unless he can make a profit

I was told today by a guy that the NFU discount is like £3000 of the RRP but if you go into the dealer, their prices are less than the RRP anyhow so the discount you apply for isn’t needed.

I’m I missing something here? I am looking to buy a new one without trade in.

For a ford last summer, dealer price was more but with 0% finance NFU cheaper but no 0% more like 6%, That said it was slighty cheaper all finished to use the nfu deal, definatly cheaper if your paying cash or using a cheaper finance system.
Nfu also gave free metallic and tow bar at the time,

I found the rep lost his keenness when I spoke of full payment, so I went down the finance route to make him hungry for the loan commission, then paid off the loan the day after delivery.

old pickup wasnt px as it was ancient more suited to ebay, Sold very quickly on there
