What rent to park a container up in the yard?

As above, a shop the wife manages has to move their storage container (20') which has non perishable goods in it and requires no services. We have room so what would be a fair rent? (Bearing in mind the shop is leased and when that runs out there could be a very nice container for sale....)

I'd look to being around the £1.50 per day plus VAT. They pay the legal fees. Three monthly brake clause by either party. Six months rent up front as a deposit kept in a separate account. You have a key so old tyres aren't stored! No stuff outside the container.

Ok thank you all. That's given me a ballpark to work in. Trust isn't an issue in this case, my wife is pretty much the only person with access to it as part of her job so already have a key. The ground it is currently on has been sold and the container has to be moved.

Containers around here are £100/month and there is a shortage.

Tie the contract up so that your wife’s Job is included so if she leaves their contract ends, giving more job security but the big down side is she will end up spending time getting things before she goes to work so it would seem fair enough To have it tied in to the contract. And you also have control off the container and know who is in and out as they work with her.

Storage is at at an all time premium guys .A realistic rental of 130 a month is easily justified here in Wilts .We have 4 and could do with another 20 for demand but rates would rocket with that as would admin .
Charging the lower end opens it too readily available for illegal activities eg stolen goods handling etc which is a sad fact of storage rentals .
