What should I be charging per hour for tractor and man

This'll make some of you spit your tea out, our muck spreading contractor charged £27 per hour last year for 230hp tractor, 10 tone rear discharge, driver and fuel, makes no sense in us owning a spreader or even hireing one at that price.
Muck spreaders here £120 per day (£12 per hour), I normally count £5 per hour in fuel......I'm no scientist BUT.......

The 2015 tractor would have cost a hell of a lot less too the way prices have risen.
Granted I know, the gaps getting wider when you want to change it though......only way you can keep charges low are to buy a tractor with higher hours which don't depreciate as much.
Running a new tractor such with a value of £100k for figures quoted.....not cool

Is it more efficient than having 2 tractors?

I'd say not, no. A 939 is a big tractor, and arguably not ideally suited to a sprayer for a start. It is heavier, with more expensive tyres and a bigger thirst than a tractor of (less than) half the size that would do the same job. I'd wager the depn on a 939 is higher than say a 716 (or whatever) due to a higher purchase price, and less likely homes for it when change time comes.
Seems an expensive way to spray crops to me - a runabout 6930 would do such a job for a good while, even if bought with higher hours and dedicated to just spraying, bought right it would cost less to do the job than the overkill of using the farms 'big oss' for all the smaller jobs.

Stop whining about prices, it's how the market works. If you're adement those low end prices are to low, pay more or don't do the job.
If you need alot of work done, I'd figure most people would go for the cheapest option.
Also the topic starter already said that he won't be the cheapest, and kudos for him for mentioning an actual figure.
I have done a little bit of work with my 130 hp tractor for €45 with my own fuel. It was just to help someone out so I have not really done a hard calculation. He isn't to fussy for me so hey.

A chap helped us out for the first cut with a 140hp tractor for £26/h, he supplied the fuel. I thought it was ok but my old man pulled a face.
How do people justify so low rates to themselves? The tractor or the driver is doing free work at that money.

We charge 75€+vat/hour for our Jd6630 or Case Maxxum 135 Cvx and a chain mulcher with our own diesel.

I think it's difficult to make a direct comparison as the market structures are different, farm/field sizes are different, annual task list of an average tractor is different, cost of living is different and the UK is a more competitive marketplace overall. Just like you pay 30€ for a haircut in Finland, but can get your ears lowered for <15€ in the UK :)

To the OP: One you've calculated your "total running costs per hour", consider mapping out your pricing structure to include "jobs to make money on" and "jobs to cover fixed costs/depreciation". Ryanair make money selling flights, but they will still fill empty seats "at, or just above cost" to get at least some pennies in the tin.

Its amazing how little people will work for and try and pay for machinery. I own no machinery at all if far cheaper for me to get someone in to do the work and work off farm for more money. I had someone come and do topping for me last week while I went off shearing. He charged me £35/hour for £120k tractor and batwing topper. While I went off and earnt £40/hour for £1k shearing kit. They are fight over the work for that much money (probably because I pay them the same day) while you cant get a shearer for love nor money!!
