Has anyone had a large scaffold erected recently?
major farmhouse refurbishment going on and my builder needs scaffolding on 2 gables along the front of house around bedroom that sticks out, over conservatory, and wrap around a chimney on either end, 2 storey large house.

How does £6k sound for 1month then £150 a week thereafter?

I've no idea how it compares, and I can't think of anyone who's had similar to ask.

Just has to scaffold around a large farm house, scaffold quote was for 12 weeks hire then 10% per month there after.

6k for 1 month sounds alot
What did yours cost for the initial 12 weeks?
Builder reckons I'll be 8-10 weeks depending on weather, would work out at £7.5 for 10weeks

Approx 5k, not sure the 10% per month is correct, it was slightly less than the original avg per week charge.
Was all around a 350+m2 T shaped building, double width lift to stack slate on
I Came to an arrangement with the scaffold supplier until the job was finished. So paid less than the original avg per week charge for duration.
Scaffold had been erected 6.5 months

Used to work for a scaffold company ,,only thing I was told ,,its priced per linear metre ,,will all depend on how many lifts are needed ,,if its free standing or tied in to the building ,,then theres brick gaurds, debris netting ,,how many couplings ,the guys to errect it and sign it of and then only they can alter it or take it down ..the list is endless

picture of house for clarity. imagine it'll be possibly 3 lifts to get right up to all the peaks

£6k would buy the scaffolding….
Probably but it won't pay the insurance or get you the paperwork to cover you if something goes wrong.
Talking to a builder couple of weeks back he said it was a grand in cash to do the gable end on a council type house for a month
