What should JRM tackle first?

6. Ask Priti Patel to investigate how it is legal or appropriate for a police officer to stop every farmer and livestock carrier entering Norwich market and ensure the vehicle doesn’t move whilst protestors film them , their vehicle and inside their vehicle carrying livestock / their dog etc, the protestors shouting including shame on you, blood on your hands and worse .

Said protestors have film with registration numbers and faces yet the police observe them harassing legal activity , intimidating folk and upsetting the livestock in their care whilst themselves wearing balaclavas

If it stops the M25 then there’s swift action , in Norwich it’s actively supported by the police

Edit: you are not allowed to move for 30 seconds

Between the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation and the Conservative Environment Network i'm starting to wonder where the fvck the real Conservative party went.

………….
I’m afraid the real Conservative party (leadership) with a modicum of Christian/Liberal values is long gone and Labour’s extreme offering at the last general election has a lot to answer for.

And @topground I've added 6. under the Government efficiency remit; surely those police officers should be chasing down rural crime instead?

That's nothing short of scandalous.

I've seen @spin cycle has mentioned them in his thread but didn't realise they were going to those extremes 🤬

It even made Radio 4 this morning - can't remember if it was Farming Today or the Today programme - they even interviewed a police inspector about it ....................................
I've just this minute PM'ed @spin cycle about it.
Is there anything we could do, as a collective, to help the Norwich guys out?? (I don't know, get it some wider exposure in the farming press or something?)

It smacks me it might be the thin end of the wedge if they let the bu66ers carry on like that.

Imagine the hullabullo if we were filming a load of vegans going about their legal business. The feckin woke authorities would be down on us like a ton of bricks.

I bet if I drew up and started filming and asking for balaclavas to be removed I'd be on a charge for something

i think you've highlighted a 'missing link' to an arguement i've been trying to put together (y)

basically the vegans are combining rights to stop us and photograph us ...individually not illegal....the police have introduced a 30 second stop as a practical measure

however it could very well argued that effectively the police are aiding the vegans to stop and search us which would certainly be a breach of our human rights;)

i'll pitch it 'spin style' to the police and crime com.(y)

99 times out of 100 when I took stock to market I was on my own, so, if I’m understand this correctly, the police would expect me, a lone woman, to stop and be subjected to harassment and verbal abuse, to be filmed and photographed without my consent, and this is something that they would deem acceptable to happen to me as I go about my lawful business?
As a woman on her own, if I was treated like this in any other setting, my first thought would be to call the police, fat lot of use that would be.
What would happen if some other group of like-minded people, who had strong opinions verging on outright prejudice, decided that they were to take direct action against those they disagreed with, so they gather on a main road in the nearest town and stop every woman driver, or non-white driver, or van driver, or anyone else lawfully going about their business that they don’t like the look of ,they stand in the road, stop them, film them and subject them to verbal abuse. Would the police stand by then and deem it acceptable behaviour?

I have sought the advice of a serving PS He knows of no powers available to a constable to stop a vehicle for the purposes of a civilian conducting any interview for political purposes.
The term constable applies to a police officer undertaking their duties regardless of rank I understand. They all hold the office of constable.
Someone needs a word in the ear of the Norwich constabulary to point out they are being used for political purposes and misusing their powers

Sums the whole thing up in a nutshell.
The authorities are that scared of being seen to discriminate against any woke/ethnic minority for fear of being pilloried by the press and hauled over the coals by government that they actually end up discriminating against the majority of decent, law abiding citizens going about their everyday business.

As @Hilly says, the whole thing is an embarassment.

Found it on iPlayer , it was also on Radio 4 Farming Today this morning

Listen here (along with the pig rollover crisis):

Cop out on the part of the police, if the protesters are in danger when they walk in to the road then move them off the road then they won't be in danger.
As above, need to play them at their own game

Agree , they also scared of recession , so they print money , making it worse ! At some
Point the system is going to break under pressure and the mother of all recession depression will kick in just none of them want it on their watch so keep printing money making the hole bigger deeper , dangerous game .

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that laws in this country are only enforced to keep the law-abiding in check. If you actively choose to live beyond the law/break the law then most of the time you will suffer no consequences for choosing to do so. Travellers, protesters that set out with the aim to escalate their protests to violence, vandalism and intimidation of law-abiding citizens, burglary and other crimes linked to the vile drug trade that has seeped into every corner of this country, rural and suburban, not just the inner cities, most seem to carry on with complete impunity.

Correct ! The snp in Scotland slashed the budget years ago getting rid of 38% of coppers , my area goes un policed, stuff getting stolen every night , had one copper here showing interest in catching them he knows who they are and where they live etc etc just can’t catch them red handed , absolutely pathetic . The U.K. is buggerd disgusting place to live just some nice views .
