What size mower for Massey 3070

Hi all,

Looking at upgrading my old two drum mower for a wider disc mower to be able to cover more ground (Krone Activemow or similar) What sort of size would folks recommend behind a Massey 3070? Not wanting to stress it too much, don't want to break the rear casing/cross arms at all! Was thinking 2.4m?

I would think 2.4 or 2.5 ish.
Mounted or trailed?

Castings to get more brittle over time but it should be OK with a 'middle of the road' 2.4m moco. Just try to avoid the heavy duty=heavyweight models out there.

Try and get a trailed mower, a lot easier on a tractor, I used to put a trailed 9' mower conditioner on a MF 3070 and on steep ground, no problems at all. no way would I take a mounted mower conditioner on the steep fields I used to farm.

I didn't know that Twose made PZ copies. Not much hope against East European companies that copied the same PZ original design but cheaper. Unless this is indeed and E European copy that has been re-plated and rebranded by Twose?
I think you can still get the original PZ, now in orange built by Kuhn…. Yep!

That mower looks exactly the same as our sip drum mower

No need for a licence. It has been built, initially by PZ Zweegers and Zonen since the 1970’s and copied by all and sundry since the 1990’s. It is fundamentally an excellent design.

Sorry should have said! Mounted, no conditioner. One of the other things I should have mentioned is we are tight on undercover storage space, like the fact you can store those Krones in the vertical position
