What Telehandler to get?

Hi

Fed up of moving telehandler between sites, so want to get another one to keep permanently at an unmanned site we have. With it being unmanned I don't want anything too flashy or expensive, it will also only do about 10 hours a week.

A budget of £15k looks like it could get something half reliable, are there any particular makes/models to avoid? Or does the budget need increasing?

Cheers

Thanks for the responses, will do some searching

Currently JCB but this will spend 95% of the time with pallet forks on so don't want to miss a good machine for the sake of some pallet forks.

Lots of new Weidermann pivot steers being sold around here, hard to come by second hand by the looks of things though.

Been offered a construction spec 2005 535 95... for £12.5k....

Recently had paint by the looks of things, clocks don't work but he was "told" it was on about 5500hours... Is it even worth sending someone to have a look or just steer well clear ?

Given your budget, hours you are planning, and the fact you already have JCB I would think that a 526s or 530-70 would fit the bill, unless you need bigger. They are pretty reliable. The construction ones are basic and tough but no more so than a Agri one at that sort of age. And the construction ones are always numb, underpowered slow machines, which will be exaggerated if you are used to a newer agri spec one.

Robson’s are a good company but they will have probably bought it at a farm sale clean it up and put at least a couple of grand on it . But that’s how they make money.
