I’d take a grand to run them with a bull and keep them for 9 months, highly unlikely to loose one, biggest risk would be one turning out to be a non breeder I suppose.

Very lucky to sell i/c for 2040 ,but I hope your right as I sell a few new calvedthe above post says sold in calf @2040 not fresh calved.

I read that as top price was £2040, not the average.I never said they were worth £2040 @Whitepeak said his boss sold some in calf last autumn for £2040... it’s years since I’ve bought a cow or heifer and I’ve certainly never sold one. Best of luck with your fresh calved ones.
Last year had picked out 12 to sell in.local market ,advertised and had some phone call interest ,vet was out few days before sale with cows got him to put .hand in them just to check,3 non breeders ,was able to say at sale that the 9 were ok to breed . Nothing gets you a bad name quicker than folk thinking you’re a chancer.
born as singles possibly was a twin brother earlier in pregnancy. This Actually happened 2 years ago last year seemed to get lost somewhere
