What to do with waste Bread

So I’ve been getting waste bread to feed to my cattle. They love it and are doing really well on it only problem is it comes in whole loafs and I must spend the best part of 1 hour a day ripping up loafs of bread. I’m just wondering what other people use to chop up the bread I’ve tried feeding them whole loafs but the just end up wasting it. Any suggestions would be great.

Do you mean taking them out of packet or slicing them?

It comes in whole loafs unsliced. Take ages to pull apart. And if you get a sour doe loaf your better of using a knife to cut it up.

Just be careful with bread as birds - esp seagulls - love it and it may (note caution) lead to a salmonella outbreaks in your herd. If that happens, you will lose a percentage and then on a 3 year vaccine programme

Was thinking more the type that augers it straight through a slicing plate than a roller type

Not convinced with whole loaves tbh

Tubs are cheap enough second hand and can weld on new blades pdq

That's what I was wondering .
We used to have trailer loads of bread yrs ago from the old Mothers Pride bakery and dad never chopped it up .

Tip it against a wall and drive all over it for 2 mins with clean wheels.
