Do you have a plough because if you do it would be your guide to what size hp tractor you need?
You have to have a Quad trac, discorden and 8metre Vaddy drill. With a fastrac, 18ton Bailey trailer and state of the art drier. With a Volvo shovel to load wagons with. This is bare Minimum for 15 acres I'd say . Might pay to have something like a puma cvx on hire at busy times aswell just in case .1 tractor on 15 acres? Is it possible to farm 15 acres with only 1? Or am I doing something wrong with 3 tractors and around 230hp on 9 acres?
My drill I use on 150 acres cost £190 17 yrs agoI may be missing something, but for old / vintage stuff on Ebay I have seen relatively cheap seed drills and harrow's (for a couple of thousand pounds). Or is that equipment no good? It's only 15 acres, so it will not get much use.
As for sprayers, that's not a heavy task, so would a quad bike not be up to that? It's only 15 acres and I have seen sprayers for quads.
would a classic 80hp tractor lift it?I have a ransomes tsr300 4f reversible plough for sale
Would suit a classic 80hp tractor a treat
Depends on the classic 80hp tractor, some are more capable than others.would a classic 80hp tractor lift it?
ill just leave this here........ it may aid your decision making.
Used to use it on a 7745 zetorwould a classic 80hp tractor lift it?
Grass only here - ford4000 and a compact (dual forestry use) as steep ground - but im small acreage so use contractors when i need to. ill let others eat the depreciation. You seem to have a very different philosophy. Out of interest what machinery do you use and what do you grow?
Depreciation? What depreciation? Low hour tractors kept for five years or more tend to depreciate very little, if any. Buy a five year old popular model and it may even appreciate rather than depreciate. The depreciation, if any, is in any case likely to be tiny.Grass only here - ford4000 and a compact (dual forestry use) as steep ground - but im small acreage so use contractors when i need to. ill let others eat the depreciation.
