What type of heater heats electric cars?

I believe that would be battery back up. And as with air-con, lights, radio. CD player and four passengers plus luggage, navigating a 1.3 uphill pull, that makes a hoooge difference to the miles the vehicle can travel before the lights go out.

Forget the hills - you get the energy back going down again. And why would you have aircon and heated seat on at the same time? Or radio and CD player for that matter?

I haven't seen a car electric motor in the flesh, but the tank size one I have had water cooling. They are super efficient compared to internal combustion, but not absolutely perfect and still give off some heat.

you get some of the energy back going down again... but unless you add extra weight at the top of the hill, as is the case with some electric mine trucks that bring material down hillsides, then a mile with a hill in the middle greatly reduces range compared to driving a flat mile.

I would think they also would have battery heaters to actually heat the batteries up, I know some of the electric powered gliders have them as they perform best at a given temp and capacity is diminished at lower temps. The one chap I know who has one told me his machine has a modem in it and they can see exactly what is happening in real time back at the factory (Switzerland) and even change parameters etc of the power system (not during flight though) and also spot any issues with defective cells or overheating cells etc. Clever stuff but a bit big brother
