Hello, we have a farm that consists of several orchards of fruit trees (apples, cherries, plums etc..) in a mountain region. The total area consists of around 10 hectares. We need to cut or shred the cover crop that we grow between the trees and leave it on the top soil as mulch but we dont know which is the right equipment for that. We have a Massey Ferguson 240 tractor and need a something that is mounted behind it.
I appreciate your advice

A flail mower will shred light tree prunings, briars and grass. If it has wheels or a rear roller it is possible to limit the height of cut so you miss the stone. There are numerous widths and sizes available. I run a dragone 1.5m on an mf135 which is about the right size for field headland shredding. Kuhn would also make a similar machine which are popular too.

I've a kuhn vkm flail mower and the other day cutting some scrub it split a fire extinguisher in two. Caught a co2 cylinder too but I lifted over it :ROFLMAO:. The odd stone won't worry it.
