What type of markers do you use in the workshop

Basic question,what type/make of White coloured marker do you use for marking oil filters( change hrs) and for marking metal (rusty and new) when doing fabrication work. Thankyou

them are alright as retangular /thinner better to mark with ..and not the thicker box shaped

I use an ear tag pen

I write on filters with a scribe, so basically it rusts to show the writing, I also print a label and stick it inside the cab with date and hours when filter was changed.

Although expensive, I've found that the Allflex ear tag pen to be the best. They last for ages and don't dry out. I've had them last years. The permanent markers that you can buy from stationers are hopeless.

Now that’s a practical reply, which I am sure many of us do , especially me.
Marking the oil filter change needs something a bit more distinct . I see most ear tag markers only come in black, so not much use on black oil filter elements.
