None of you lot ever heard of Dan Blizerian then?
I’d live like that.

Or,
Buy the farms I like/liked in some of the areas around the country I’ve worked in. Sink the lot into farming/assets and live pocket poor again but asset rich.

thinking about it not sure it would enhance my life, yes would make the constant battle to make a living for me and mine far easier but would I or they really benefit . Ok I could have a newer car and a fleet fancy new equipment .A house with all the extras pool sauna etc or indeed several. I could travel the world in 5 star luxury at will or develop my pastimes and hobbys to a different scale but would I be any better off in life or would those that matter in my life ( n.b. i havnt suggested moving onto a younger model ) feel any sense of achievment in their lives. In fact I think could destroy all ive worked for. Financially yes but not so sure that it would make me any happier with my lot, nor give me the satisfaction of whats ours is ours with me and mine and hard earned and thus appreciated. I am sure it would create more problems than it would solve,so looks like im destined to just keep buggering on farming, in fact having re read what ive posted im thinking that so far ive already won the lottery of life which is something money cannot buy

Chap fills his car with petrol every friday on his way home from work, has a pound given in change and buys a ticket, sat night watching the telly and lo and behold 6 numbers match up. says nothing to anyone and goes to see an accountant the following monday, £5.6million. He thinks he has the almost perfect life 2 kids 13 and 15,a job that pays well enough to change his two year old car every two years, wife has a part time job helping in a school, he reckons if he tells the family everything will change and not for the better, so he has the accountant look after his money for him, it's earning £23k a month in interest alone, 10 years later, which was when the accountant retired the money had grown to £8.5million, that was above 15 years ago when my accountant told it to me, it was his best friend who had been looking after the money. Now I don't know if he's still kept the secret from his family, but can you imagine saying to the wife "ten( or more) years ago I won the lottery but didn't tell you" . The sh!t would hit the fan big style.
23k a month ? She bound to be living it up already on that ?
Usless you did'nt mention he was a "brain surgeon ", or something already ,?

We have no children, which makes a big difference to decisions. Assuming a multi-million win....
First off... a bloody big party for our friends and family, people who have supported us through tough times with TB, getting pp for wind turbine etc.

And then in no particular order...

Do our farmhouse and farm up - that will take at least £750,000; not necessarily expanding , the farmhouse will take most of that.

Pay all mortgages off for family (most are about done anyway), or a cash lump sum so they all get the same. Gardener, cleaner etc for one remaining elderly parent . Lump sums in trust to 2 nephews with health issues.

Deposits or cash equivalent if they already have a house, for nieces, nephews etc.

Some decent holidays, a heavy horse (prob Suffolk Punch) for me to have some fun with a donkey to keep it company, a season ticket at Emirates for Prince Pooper. Lots of relief milker time!

Anon donations to a range of charities.
When we stop farming - which won't be long - cash the farm in, downsize and continue with voluntary work and anon donations.

For all you lot saying you would pay off people’s mortgages it’s a sure fine way to destroy and ruin relationships, I watched a program about it, they blow the cash and come back for more again and again!
I would bank the lot, use the interest when I need it. Then I would keep all my tackle top notch, then when I retire at 65 my 3 tractors will all have about 50,000 hours and look like new
