Those MWM engines were astonishing wern't they? Apparently when they changed to John Deere engines they were not as good as before (? ). I used to pull a Kverneland 6.3 m spring tine with ours ( 63 tines) up hill and down dale without a murmur.

My uncle had one when i was a kid i think it was 95ish hp. It was an e reg. Pulled a 4f rev with it and a home made 4m combi . What model would that have been? I can remember it seeming like a monster when i was little.

We had a 851 Renault witch was a 781 with a turbo and we traded it in for a jcb fastrac 1135 , what a bad mistake there was always something wrong with it . A good puller when it was going kept it 6 years then got rid ,cost a lot in repairs . Dose any one know the whereabouts of j c b fastrac 1135 regs number N532 GNW . Or may of been exported.

Well almost, They had the same engine and as you said the 851 had the turbo but The 781 had slightly higher gear ratios. I did hear on The grapevine though that the 851 was a damn good tractor. The 781s we bought to replace a 78 hp IH 674 which like your JCB was always being repaired. As for pulling the Renault made the IH look like a dinky toy.
