Mvf just want to remember who there working for a pathetic exercise too many middle management who don't know what they are doing they think by wiping out the opposition they will get the only market farmers are more resourceful than that .MVF beware bigger bubbles than you have burst

have been a big supporter of them in the past but have to say we use the stores very little now. when i get quotes i still ring them but they are never in the ball park over an entire order. For example it is cheaper for me to have Kiwikit post me peach teats than it is for me to get them form my local MVF branch how is that possible given MVF supposed buying power? My father and i went into the Yeovil branch just after 9am as we were passing and was amazed at the ratio of staff to customers they had 2 on the tills and we were the only people in there. I have to say the letter yesterday was worrying in the senses that they seem surprised at trading conditions over the last 12 months and the implications that had had on their expansion plans and bottom line profitability. To me they seem bloated, the store refits seem to have attracted turnover but not profitability and they seem to have forgotten the shareholders in their willy waving expansion.

Completely agree soapy, victim of their own creation, and will be split up over the next 18 months into smaller stand alone businesses I would imagine. I heard last week they have parted company with their longstanding finance director, that tells you the trouble they are in, couple that with losing good staff to the competition left right and centre it doesn't look good.

Don't use them to much anymore and tend to use the local merchants because they are more clued on. However I happened to pop into the Holsworthy store yesterday, was appalled at the customer service. Had to ask if they had more in stock out back, woman bought the wrong thing back so I said no that's not it, she literally huffed and said oh well I'll go and look again as if I was asking the world. Will just pay the extra couple of quid next time

The Biggest problem Mole Valley have is the way their buying office isn't upto the job, they are mass buyers yet on many things are paying more to buy in the products than smaller one man bands are paying.

What is the shareholder offer please? I'm a member but don't use them for much. No paperwork here yet.

Instead of giving out shareholder vouchers to spend on anything like they normally do this year they stopped that and instead gave you a voucher that you could spend on certain items ( only about 6 things )

The shareholder voucher's are paid out on a % basis of what you spend a year with MV, ie the more you spend the more vouchers you would have got.

Members have ( quite rightly ) never got the vouchers, you need to be a full farmer shareholder

I agree completely, I was discussing purchasing with one of their reps at their northern office, he was telling me all there buying is now done from Devon. Jobs for the boys down there so it seems ( and maybe the odd brown envelope )
