take the tyre off, beat the rim into submission, paint inside and out, refit tyre.cant see any need for a new rim. Rims with far greater damage have been repaired with no problems.

Indeed, had one here where the water had laid round the valve hole for years, and rotted it right through. Had another rim, but it had round lugs instead of square ones, and i needed a matching pair for a restoration, so just cut the rot out, then cut a matching bit out of the spare rim, welded it back in, job done.

butchery in progress....can see why we had to cut it out, when we put 25lb in the tyre it looked like the tube was going to have a hernia trying to get out through the rim!!!!

Our old JD2850 had seriously bent rims edges when we bought it. Managed to hammer them back fairly neatly with tyres off.

The metal did seem very soft. have never seen this kind of damage on our other makes.

Wonder if it was a bad batch of wheels or lower spec?

Take wheel off and straighten with digger or sledge

There is a mark on the tyre wall. And if a tyre fitter had done it, it would have been hammered back!

Yes you are probably right on a closer look.

That has hit something. It's not the end of the world, I have straightened worse, don't even need tyre off

That's nothing I've hammered a lot worse than that back with the tyre still on, usual on a scraper tractors
