Whats it worth? 1989 JD 3050

Looking to trade in our John Deere 3050, no hi lift, no turbo. 4wd, head fully reconditioned with new valves, guides, seals, etc. with receipts. Bottom end rebuilt and new orbital unit fitted last year. Overall good condition, before the dealer shoots us down, what's its realistic value?

We had a 3350 which dropped a valve.

Only Deere we have now is a lawnmower......with a Kawasaki engine.

Sell it private,put it up for £8500 and see what happens

@Robt is spot on I reckon, hours depending of course but assuming the usual 8-9k hours that figure would be dead on the money. £6500 it is a basic spec after all.

Yes but you go and buy one for that money when you want one,no chance ?

You will be well pushed to pick up a clean 6cyl 50 series for under 10k euros in Ireland. Odd ones do come up for 7-8k but are snapped up within a few hours generally. Really rough examples generally in the 5k bracket.

Maybe it is to do with popularity and resultant availability of second hand models in that JD would have had a much larger market share in the late 80s/early 90s in the UK than in Ireland.

How do you tell if they’re hi lift? Assist or rams?

Hi-Lift will have assistor rams. Big step has the ladder type steps and rail into the cab. The 1993/1994 models mostly seem to have the digi dash also. Very rare to also see with the pyrotronic digital lift/draft control.

Late model 3650s with the above spec and 40km gearbox seem to command a sizeable premium over the earlier 3050s.
