We left HSBC after years of disappointing service. It was a pita and costly to move but worth it. Priced up and met two on recommendation, both good so went on price.
Currently with HSBC but they dont seem interested in putting my name on the account (currently dad and uncles names). One person said it would cost a fortune to redo the loan agreement and another fella more recently told us just to more online banking.
So dad and I are considering opening a new account somewhere else and when the hsbc loan is paid off in a 4-5years we'll close that
We find Rabobank ( a Dutch bank, dunno if it operates in the UK, I presume it does ? ? ) very good here. They ONLY operate with agriculture, that is their focus & that is all they do. They are very big in agricultural banking / finance in Australia.
They also give you a dedicated contact / “relationship” manager, who deals with our business personally, is our point of contact & who can approve loans instantly up to a certain amount. They have quite tight criteria as to who they will lend money to, even before our banking Royal Commission & tightening up of regulations.
Our banking industry here is very tightly regulated though, no dodgy loans anymore, or buckets loads of cash thrown to people without serious assets / cash flows etc, not like the 80’s ( & subsequent high interest rates ) that brought many people undone
