Terrible wages with the cost of living where it is ,especially if your only doing 38-40hrs.
Agreed . Surely a decent tractor driver is worth £15 an hour ? ...or am I wrongTerrible wages with the cost of living where it is ,especially if your only doing 38-40hrs.
Hence tax payers are financing these low paying companies by the way of Universal Credit , no family man can survive on minimum wage without government (tax payer ) assistance.Terrible wages with the cost of living where it is ,especially if your only doing 38-40hrs.
Should be but what average sized farm can afford workmen on £600+ / week for 40 hrs, 52 weeks of the yearAgreed . Surely a decent tractor driver is worth £15 an hour ? ...or am I wrong
That's why no one want to work in this Country then possibly???Should be but what average sized farm can afford workmen on £600+ / week for 40 hrs, 52 weeks of the year
Nobody wants the s.hit jobs on s.h.it money anymore, we are going to have to pay higher wages to get the worse jobs done and wealthy business owners/shareholders are going to have to share the wealth . Nobody starts or stays working on farms just for the money though, sometimes doing the job you like is worth a paycutThat's why no one want to work in this Country then possibly???
i bet his names diesel dick.Probably get a lad in wales to bring a tractor and trailer for £12 hr
It does depend on the area you live in.Terrible wages with the cost of living where it is ,especially if your only doing 38-40hrs.
No one should be working on a farm for minimum wage these days , there's plenty of unskilled work out there paying considerably more and generally it`s a lot more easy than farm work with more sociable hours. The minimum wage isn't mandatory. If you think you are worth more, ask more or go somewhere else.
Farm owners can afford it, do you ever see them going without, they’ve been lying to us for years just to line their own pockets. Just ask yourself why you’re driving a machine worth hundreds of thousands pounds on just over the minimum wage.Should be but what average sized farm can afford workmen on £600+ / week for 40 hrs, 52 weeks of the year
You're self employed so you set the rate, what were you thinking of charging? What’s the going rate for self employed worker for grain/bale carting stack bales just the labour?
Very true. He/she has to get someone to pay higher rates though, I'm not sure many will.Self employed at £11/hr, if he’s any good he is seriously undervaluing himself.
That’s the problem, farmers need dragging into the year 2021, most are still stuck in 1921.Very true. He/she has to get someone to pay higher rates though, I'm not sure many will.
How else will they buy more land for a few £100k every 3 or 4 years and new £100k tractors if they pay you a fair wage ?Farmers moaning about paying a self employed person £11/hr is absolutely ludicrous
