Whats the going rate for combining?

I've been asked by a local farmer if I can do his combining as he's be let down by his normal contractor, we've not done any contract combining for many years so not sure the going rate, here's what I've found out, does it sound about right?

200 acres wheat (95% standing)
Decent sized fields
Short haul (less than a mile)

We have a high-ish output combine (5 acres/hr in 4 t/acre wheat) and a pair of 14t trailers on floatations

NAAC quote around £36/acre combining and tractor, trailer and driver at £42/hr

Does that sound reasonable?

There are plenty that will do it at £35/ac but I think it should be more like 40-45 given the capital and running costs of these machine now, its probably the lowest margin contracting work you can do

Tractor / trailer / driver you an get for £25-£30 /hr so if you can get £42 go for it

It's actually quite difficult to get self employed tractor jockey's, the few that are round here prefer to go with the silaging gangs for more regular work rather than the shorter, less predictable grain hauling jobs
