What's this weed?

Unfortunately I seem to have 4 acres of whatever this is in a Autumn sown Westerwold ley... I'm hoping to flip it over into maize in the spring anyway... but would this weed be poisonous in the silage to the beef cattle?

Charlock/runch(wild radish) or black mustard that's come with the westerwolds.
Assuming if I make it into silage it won't do any harm to the cattle eating it?
I reckon it'll knock the yield a fair bit as there's hardly any grass growing amongst it.

Easy to spray out. Looks very runch like. Shouldn't be an issue in a forage crop but wants sorting before it seeds. Be careful what product you use if you intend to grow maize there this year.
From the uniformity of that 'crop' I'd say it came in with your seed and you have drilled it.
The livestock boys who are in the don't want to spend a cent club will tell you to leave it alone and graze it with sheep etc but the damage is being done as you clearly state because it is shading out your grass plants quite successfully there.

Kedlock, (charlock), as others have said a good hard frost for a week will kill it dead. Other than that some Cmpp or something when allowed

As Lincsman says. Come end winter a whiff of hormone. May even find MCPA a tad cheaper at same rate as CMPP these days.

If you can get a series of frosts with any reliability to kill that lot you'd be doing well.

I think I've only seen frosts severe enough to kill charlock ect one or maybe twice in the last 10 years so I'd be reaching for the can of spray asap when the weather allows but with how thick it is in the bottom pic what ever you do your going to have some bare or very poor patches of grass.

The only time I’ve seen frost kill Charlock is when it has a dose of Fox on beforehand!
Frost will kill charlock in flower, but if it were that frost susceptible, it would be extinct!
I agree with the above - MCPA or mecoprop (CMPP) when allowed in the spring. Rolling will help snap the stalks but won't eradicate it & you really don't want it going to seed, which it will do if left alone.

I have topped charlock in oilseed rape just before or during a frost and the plants have died. The plants are normally more advanced than the one in the picture though.
