We have a very good WhatsAp group in and around south Oxfordshire.
it has grown considerably this year due to one farmer in particular that has liaised with the local police in our local town and has numerous officers on the group.
whilst it doesn’t stop rural crime it has helped massively with speeding up-keeping eyes open throughout our area and having the officers on the group speeds up information.
One point came up the other day by a member and I thought I would share it.
this time of year farm trucks are covered in dirt , number plates can’t be seen very well , the Irish caravan club and others causing issues in the countryside have similar trucks with plates etc covered on purpose with dirt to stop anyone reading them.
point to make is keep your plates clean at all times when possible , similar WhatsAp groups should be made aware and police too as any 4-4vehicles with dirty plates needs pulling in by police.
we won’t stop them but we have to make it as awkward as possible and vehicles known to the police.
