Wheat blend problem

Started on a farm in feb and they have been growing a blend of kerrin, crispin and gleam. I’ve sent a few loads into central store and the bushel is really low. The crops look good but aren’t yielding as much as they look.
Bushels around 68.
Had t0 teb, t1 .8 ascra, t2 1l revystar, t3 azoxy + teb.
I found it really hard to time these properly because of different growth stages.
What else could have caused this, is it the varieties?
Our own wheat extase, Costello, Siskin which were treated similarly but less fungicide are all in central store with weights of 76-82, the gleam was slightly lower at 72-75.
Drilling dates a spread from mid September until end of October for all aforementioned crops.
Really need to get to the bottom of this..

Was there any late applied growth reg cycocel? Could it of been to late in the growth stage for one or two of the varieties which can cause poor grain fill.

Adam, our best looking crops have the lowest bushel, just insufficient radiation to fill the grain properly as we kept them green until the bitter end. Very thick first wheats that I thought were a dead cert for 11t/ha are yielding more or less the same as our much thinner second wheats at c.9.25t/ha but the difference is in bushel weight

Yes I’ve seen and observed this too. But the blend seems to be extraordinarily low. Just had two loads which have hit 70.

Do you know if there is a history of low bushels on that farm, our area seems to suffer from it, regardless of what we do and whether it's a high or low yield year we are lucky to not get loads under 72 and I've never had any over 76 even with costello

Don’t see why there should be. And don’t believe there has been a historical issue. It’s a big unit only down the road from us.

The thing is I have the comparison to the other single varieties we grow and they have all been much better no matter when they were drilled.

I think jeering crispin and gleam are all rust magnets, but it never took hold to be honest found very little in it.

Could it have been ready to cut but rain delayed harvest,found here once it’s barely ripe its time to go. Once it’s rain on the bushel weight drops every time the rain drops. Our has a nice red colour to start with but once that bleaches the bushel weight goes.

From a laymans pov, a blend may be prone to the worst of everything, and almost guarantee a mixed and at best average result?
Is there a reason for growing a mixed crop of the same species?
