Keeping busy with hedges and ditches, but when I've run out of jobs and if the weather picks up next week then no doubt I'll start getting twitchy on the heavy land.

Haven't really got any blackgrass to worry about here, so disease is the reason that I like to hold off for. That said, I'd rather get wheat drilled into good soil conditions and use a T0 spray, than risk a lower GM from spring barley.

I'm not even thinking about drilling wheat yet. Last week in the month at the earliest. I hate the thought of spraying it every couple of weeks for resistant BYDV carrying aphids.

Most of my cereals follow maize or potatoes , so nothing to drill yet, not that I would this early . Muckspreaders coming tomorrow onto continuous wheat land . Wind and sun have dried the top again

It certainly was a month ago when we were cutting the rape on these fields. At the time thought they would never dry so went in with the simba sl and pulled them up in less than ideal conditions, it was certainly worth it!

OSR and wheat usually in the ground for 11 months up here sometimes longer!

Wish we were thing about wheat drilling here, still holding off on some reseeds due to no rain since early June!

Still trying to get land worked down but a bit sticky at the mo, few days of this sun and wind should help

Not going to start until October half term. Barley a bit earlier. Grass even earlier but I think forecast has ruled out the next two weeks- every time I touch the ground it gets drier.

Only just finished drilling OSR, got all the land to work down yet but had very good BG control this year from mid Oct drilling, so if the weather's kind I will be planning the same again.

No plans to drill before Oct, very dry and now warm with no rain forecast for next 7 days. Going to try a bit more direct drilling I think.

Started sowing wheat yesterday, also finished combining yesterday.

We had 3 fields of wheat that had their birthday ( 12months) this year.

All w oats and osr were in the ground for at least 11 months.
