Finished a bit that was min tilled, yesterday. Slop underneath but nicer on top. 80% field went well.....but some :yuck: even our little rig was sinking/struggling, but it covered and it's in. I think if we hadn't done it yesterday, it wouldn't have got done.
Only about a 3rd way there with wheat, what's left is 2nd wheat on untouched stubbles and after beet (when ever they get lifted)
Lots going locally and late into the night. All plough/combi. All min til stuff untouched, acres and acres and acres of it!
Many many acres undrilled round here.

This end of the field lovely meadow land, really come nice......far end and headland round pit, bottomless snot.

Been trying to tread as lightly as possible!

One field of Wheat in, incredible flush of blackgrass here in the past week, so I decided not to drill yesterday, think I'm the only one in the local area who has sat it out, drills going everywhere yesterday.

The flush of blackgrass is a week or two later here than normal, so having delayed drilling it seemed fallacy to drill into a carpet of the stuff.
I've not started yet, Weavings due in today to set the drill up and bringing a missing cable, don't think we'll be drilling much :banghead:

In the middle.
I think it's game over for anymore winter drilling on any heavier land here now. Just looked at rain fall records and before today's rain we have had 326mm of rain since 17th of August so heavy ground has never really dry properly the autumn to drill well without mualing it in.

Project all hands to the pump got 170ha done in the last couple of days.

Some serious power farming with the sunshine tractor doing a cracking job of leveling and covering after the little aitchison:

I thought the answer (going by many on here) when it turned wet was the plough and combi drill?

Here we had been held off the land by the weather since the 2nd of October. Had got 1800 acres in by then. Started again last Sat with 60 acres of W Beans. Then back onto wheat again on Sunday. Managed to get 750 acres more of wheat in up until yesterday evening. Leaving about 900 acres still to go. Another 4 good days drilling with probably 4 days drying before that now after this rain so just over a weeks dry spell would get it done.

Done about half of what we want to do, but sprayer breakdown on Saturday morning meant we have missed almost 2 spray days.
priority now will have to be pre-ems before we do any more 'drilling', if the weather will let us.
Still this time last year we had done nothing. Started on the 23rd.

That only works when you chase the plough. I think @nick... had ploughed and worked his early but I stand to be corrected.

You are correct.ploughed and rolled early then disced before drilling.with a combination the seed bed is pretty much there already but that’s all I’ve got to use.had hoped to see direct and strip till drills working last autumn but weather was not favourable and I got ignored by most id been in contact with.when I disced my land the forecast was very good and I would have been drilled up in about 8 days but after doing the barley and about 15 acres of wheat it’s rained pretty continually for a month now and done nothing for 4 weeks apart from an attempt Monday where everything blocked up as too muddy.as I sit here mid day Wednesday the rain guage already has 1/2 inch in it and forecast more for rest of day.if we get several dry days maybe a tine drill will go if someone offers some help.
