just been getting the drill ready today and wiring up the stocks turbo jet to apply avadex, so hopefully we'll make a start next week, if it dry up that is.
We are in the process of making the bracket for the stocks turbo jet to fit on the drill. Applicator arrived last week, I hope it will be a sound investment!(y):cautious:

Struggling to spray stubble off. If not raining, it's blowing a gale. Made an early start yesterday morning to beat the wind, 3 forecasts said nice sunny morning and rain in evening. Finished a load onto to dewy plants, packed up and it promptly rained :(. Can't imagine it will work

Been running the carrier over some heavy land on rape stubble for the first time, travelling surprisingly well considering the rain we've had and keep having! This has been sprayed off once and trying for another chit or 2 of blackgrass.

Seed dressers coming on Tuesday, I will look to make start in 2 weeks. Anyone using Latitude for second wheats this year? Didn't bother last year, ploughed and drilled end of October but we had take all in parts and 2nd wheat yield on the whole was disappointing.

I got 30 acres in yesterday, the headlands were touch and go with the rain. If I could be guaranteed a back end like last year I would be in Spain or somewhere now, my gut feeling though is that all the weather that is happening across the world is coming to us. This will be a bit of a nightmare as all stubbles have had a preliminary cultivation. Beans are still to cut :(

Horrible situation and one I'm very familiar with, so I can empathise, BUT, if it was a crop of Wheat that you'd just sprayed with glyphosate, by accident, would you be comfortable that the rain had saved you? I hope it'll turn out ok, and although I don't know the real situation (rates, level of rain, size of weeds etc), if it was an SU I would worry, but I've often been surprised by rain immediately post Glyphosate application......Good luck!

Sprayed a lot of stubbles a couple of weeks ago, promptly rained straight after, it was actually raining when I finished one. Results have been at least as good as normal. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Spring barley, oats, spring wheat and beans to cut here. I think the beans will go first. Looking at the spring barley field I can see us planting wheat before we can harvest.

I cant be sure if last year's 2nd wheat disaster was due to either the extreme delayed drilling or the lack of Lattitude.

Although my neighbours 2nd wheats were nothing to get excited about at somewhere around the 3.3 t / acre mark they were far from a disaster ,,,,,, all I can say tho is that in the first field drilled the drill was run out with seed not containing latitude before changing variety and on the last field the last short run was drilled without latitude , Can't say what these 2 runs yielded because drill is narrower than combine header but the 2 strips didn't look like they had enjoyed the experience of being in a 2nd wheat situation with out latitude

Rounded up a few more acres today. Finished last piece at 5pm and right now it is hammering down, thunder and lighting. 2 hours for rain fastness???

Ah, you copped that black cloud I saw passing north of me.

What product, dose, adjuvants, target plants and their sizes please?

A couple of hours is usually sufficient to get enough into the plant as long as you've not been stretching it thinly.

The one time that I have used "roundup max", I blew the pipe between the Ramsay and the pump.....it went everywhere but managed to turn off the pump before too much was lost (more by luck than judgement)......Within 2 hours, i tried pressure washing the residue off the sprayer to no avail.....literally had to chisel the stuff off.

What were you using?

Yep caught a big one. Thought we might just nip the edge of the storm but it thrashed it down for 10-15mins.
Generic glyphosate at 3.5 litres, volunteers and meadow grass. Nothing "too" big. No adjuvant .
