Wheat drilling

Not doing any more. Went to level out some ploughing so it would be all nice for spring. Left it as it was at the same time leaving it too fine for winter, but too tacky to drill with wheat. Dry forecast but I think that's enough for this year. Should have put winter beans infront of the plough.
Why not put beans on the ploughing and cultivate, sounds ideal?

Glad most of you have managed to get all the wheat sown in good conditions, due to other commitments and staff issues I'm now really struggling to get any done. Managed 230 acres out of what I hoped would be 650-700 drilled this autumn. It's tough when you have 2 jobs and only one tractor driver, me! Will keep plodding on through the showers on another 200 acres ish but the rest will probably be spring crops now, trouble is there was already another 500 acres earmarked for that anyway!

The soil is still quite dry in mid-Lincs. We just havn't had any significant rain since September, hence the need to roll.
I know its strange for November, but true. Rolled the last field today + applied a pre-em. Job done in 10 days.
Its been "easy" everyone says. The hardest part was being patient and holding your nerve!
