according to the met office we have no more than a 10% chance of rain until thursday night, I hope that they are correct surely they have to be right sometimes cos they havnt been since may when we started cutting grass through to harvest and now sowing even for a day never mind 6 so its a big ask

I don't trust the weather at the moment. As a result, I'm on a mission.

I've done a couple of 19 hour days and have got 243 acres in. Going in a treat.

Unfortunatley our land wont perform if drilled later than. 10th oct. Great if iv got everyting prepped and it doesnt rain for those ten days. Cant afford to take that risk so im currently drilling claire ww.

Heavy ground? I must admit that all autumn drilling is to be lighter ground. Our clay ground is destined for spring or has osr in. Perhaps I would be getting twitchy if we had some heavy ground to mess around with

Who is not planning on drilling wheat just yet?
Not looking til Oct
Not even thinking about it till after the 15th October but it would be nice to have some dry weather to allow us to create the final seedbeds so we can get a final chit of bg

Not started yet, haven't even got any seed dressed yet, here at the end of week, wasn't planning to start until the end of the first week of October anyway.
Didn't start drilling last year till the 9/10,
Trouble is I've even got bg on the heath now so need a coulpe of stale seed beds:banghead:.
Just hope we get a decent October, not panicking........................ yet.

Hopefully finish the barley on Monday. Will aim to get all the seedbeds roundupped early in the week, and those after OSR pelleted for a kill. Then drill inbetween cutting beans and linseed. Looks like I will put two drills on the job and try and get caught up.

This x 1000. My wife thought i was being over the top yesterday afternoon when sugessting the met office should be hit by one of that north korean fat lads missiles.
At least then you could predict a large mushroom cloud over the met office.;)
Come to think of it I bet the weather forecasters in north korea shite themselves when the fat lad asks whats the weather going to do!?

Going to start drilling wheat next week me thinks, on low pressure bg land.(don't like to say no pressure bg land as I may get bitten on the ass). Moderate/hi pressure bg land been worked again today for another chit. Won't be drilled for month.(he says:rolleyes:) Avadex applicator nearly finished on the drill.

Had a good week ploughing, amongst loading grain lorries and dealing with other issues. Dad's not well and in and out of hospital. Hoping to finish ploughing tomorrow or Monday, then will start drilling . Will then need to wait until maize harvest before the final push. Best yields came from the later sown wheats after maize again this year. Will just plough and follow with combination as it gets later.
