Reading this thread is very depressing, you guys are finishing, but we can't get started, three days of rain showers has stopped us and today is no go as well.
I want the drought back.[apart from wb , harvest just starting in this part of the world! Also the true harvest weather of rain and cool temperatures. .

Wheat finished 2 days ago. Can't make any useful variety judgements...early drilled Skyfall did the best because it missed most of the midge pressure and was further on when the drought pressure hit.
If the wheat in the shed was 15% i would say we averaged 7.5t/ha off a bit of second wheat, a bit of wheat after SB, and the remainder continuous.
But a lot of it is in the low 11's%, average might be 12%

Don't worry, we've hardly got started either.....
Bit of rape still to cut.....and w wheat too.

It'll get done in the end.......always does

In Bedfordshire when we're not burning combines! yields are well down, not many trailer loads on the road and every stem of straw is being baled.
I am finding that the spring sown wheats will produce are better GM than winters. strange but I guess the expectation of yield was much more realistic whilst applying inputs ( I hate being proved right).
I also have a feeling (in my water) that those willing to tender £200 plus per ac that were successful will struggle for the next two years.

I have struggled to see a good crop of spring wheat in this area.

We only started on Thursday! In second wheats Montana average around 8.5t/ha with around 4.4t/ha of straw, Zyatt doing better averaging 9.6t/ha but straw slightly less at 4.1t/ha! Did have a spot rate at one point of 13.4t/ha in the zyatt!
